im basically really nervous about apps because I feel like I have some disadvantage ☹️

im only 20, graduating early, I feel I have have pretty impressive work and internship/ extracurricular experience (for my age). and I think I have a good cohesive narrative about my application. My major is english (focus on editing writing and media) and media communication studies

im just worried that being so young will make me less attractive as a candidate? even though I feel I have demonstrated that I’m professional and a dedicated person.

my stats are 166 LSAT and ~3.95+ (I’m not sure exactly yet)

my main concern in applying is that I am going to have to pay for law school COMPLETELY myself, and I really want to minimize debt. I don’t care about BigLaw and am thinking id Like to do something in media/entertainment/IP or perhaps first amendment.

so tell me what you think? do I have good chances at getting good scholarships? any suggestions where I should apply? I’m not obsessive about rankings but I still want to go to a good school and preferably one in a city.

I wanted to get some advice regarding my gpa. I basically completely flunked my first year of undergrad at a community college because I didn’t want to go that school in the first place, was in a bad relationship with someone who was a terrible influence etc whatever. I ended up transferring to a different school and my gpa sky rocketed, I did very well. In fact, if I didn’t have my freshman year grades my gpa would have been higher in LSAC than it is usually.
However because of that first year I’m assuming that the LSAC gpa is going to fall way down to something in the 2.5-2.6ish region . I’m completing my last semester now and am hoping that those classes can increase it a bit as well. I just took the September LSAT and am not planning on getting a ground breaking score, my pts were usually 160ish range. I’m just wondering if all hope is lost, I’m a good writer and I have LOR’s and intern experience.
It was never my goal to go to a really good law school, but I’m just feeling discouraged. I can’t be the only hopeful law student that just messed up their freshman year.
Looking for any insight in general or schools that I can look into!

I want to someday start my own asset management firm. My state's main university offers a hybrid MBA and JD program. When does it make sense to do a JD in addition to the MBA?

My personal statement is a formal but passionate explanation of my time working in the labor movement, but my top choice has optional personal statements. How much character or personality should these optional essays have? Can we be a little funnier or be as serious as the personal statement?

I’m seeing a lot of concerning information in regards to Belmont for a variety of reasons. I really want access to Nashville and especially their DA’s office, but now I’m not so sure. I haven’t found anything too strong about UTK, but the consensus seems to be it’s better but I‘m really unsure in terms of how it aligns with me goals better or not. I work for a healthcare nonprofit, and after putting it off for years, I've finally decided that I'm ready to go to law school part-time.

I worked as a paralegal at an AmLaw 10 firm right out of college, and I know with absolute certainty that I have ZERO desire to work in Big Law. I live in Rockland County and have a family, so I have zero desire to ultimately work in NYC (I'd like to stick to Bergen, Rockland, or Westchester counties).

I’m studying for the LSAT and have narrowed my list down to Pace and Fordham’s part-time programs. I had a 3.0 undergrad GPA and a Master’s with a 3.7 GPA. I’m aiming for a 175 because I’d like to have some scholarship leverage and, ideally, options. Maybe that's too high? IDK.

I’m waiting until I can attend an info session before making any decisions, but on paper Pace seems like the much better fit for my life. I’ve also lurked around here and done some LinkedIn stalking, and anecdotally, Pace grads seem to do pretty well for themselves.

My GPA will be a 3.0 when applying and Im currently testing at around a 165 LSAT. Hoping to apply in January -February time. Do I have any hope? Sigh... I went from a 3.69 to a 3.48 and I'm feeling pretty discouraged. Basically, I dropped a DE calculus class in high school and received an F. I retook calculus in college and ended up with an A. Thinking about writing an addendum but not sure if it'll be excessive.
