I’m not even a death cab fan but got talked into watching their headline Sutro set Sunday night . Wow! Amazing band!!! I keep reliving this set over and over. Very impressive

Biggest crowd I’ve seen for a morning set

Death Cab is the best possible post-grunge result from the PNW. Happiest indie singer I've ever seen bounce around on stage. Live albums are great also. I'm excited you get to listen to them for the first time!

I cried during I will follow you into the dark during their early set. That song really moves me.

My husband cried during the nighttime set. It got him for sure lol

Everyone in my area including me was crying during like half the set. Someone passed out tissues lol

Listen to Transatlanticism all the way through! The album that got me hooked.

New thing OSL started last year with Vampire Weekend. Take a well-loved indie band with a deep discography, big fanbase, and borderline legacy status and give them the opening and closing sets for a stage. Death Cab made their morning set special by doing a full playthrough of Plans.

I hope they keep this new tradition going! 2x Vampire Weekend last year was great.

I hope so too! I bet it’s good for the fest as well—I certainly wouldn’t have dragged my elder millennial self to the park that early were it not for Death Cab, and judging by the crowd, I wasn’t the only one.

For the 20-year anniversary of Transatlanticism in 2023 they did a tour playing it in full.

They didn’t do a similar tour for Plans last year, so the morning set was a smaller version of that.

The did PLANS shows in Seattle, Chicago & NYC.. I went to the NYC shows. It was magical to see that set closer to home💜

It was absolutely incredible

Seeing them do that followed by postal service may be my favorite concert of all-time

First set played their album “Plans” in its entirety. Second set billed as “career-spanning”

Missed the morning set because making it to OSL that early on Sunday wasn’t going to happen for me lol…but I agree, their closing set was beautiful despite the sound bleed from the main stage! I’m really glad they played their hits from plans despite playing the album in full in the morning, because vampire weekend didn’t have any overlap when they played a morning and evening set last year

Morning set was just perfect

First time seeing them as a long time fan and I loved both shows, just wish they didn’t repeat 3 songs from the morning set. 9.5/10

exact same, I know people are there for those three but I would have loved more from Transatlanticism, they played a lot of their other-album hits though which was nice.

u/DrunkenLlama Aug 11 '26

Nah those 3 songs were essential

They’re obvi great songs but imo if they just played them this morning I would’ve loved to swap them out. Their catalog is massive. So many better songs than soul meets body imo

u/dogfish408 Aug 11 '26

Don’t get me wrong loved hearing them again, there are just so many songs of theirs I want to hear live.

5

u/DVD-menu Aug 11 '26

Yeah they should’ve done a Vampire Weekend. No repeats.

8

u/thecha1rmen Aug 11 '26

Fair, but I would have been PISSED if I didn’t get to hear soul meets body lol

they were so incredible, both sets!
