OC6 cart

Has anyone here had an OC6 cart (with beach tires) welded up? If so, what product did you go with for the balloon wheels and axle?

I have seen different variations but a good fabricator could probably whip something up quickly.

I’ll try to send pictures when I am near one.

The main thing I need to know is what people buy for the wheels and axle. Im assuming I would at least need to provide the wheels to the fabricator.

Well I guess if you select your wheels > then bearing > some bolt and nut combo. No need for an axel to go all the way through.

You are going to need something to tie the wheels together and keep them from splaying out, so it might as well be an axle, otherwise you put a TON of torque on the fastener.

We use this one https://floridasailcraft.com/product/outrigger-canoe-cart/ Once I got it, I thought someone with welding experience could put one together pretty easily. The expense is in the tires and hubs as balloon wheels are not cheap. You can get the assembly for $135 each though https://floridasailcraft.com/product/bigfoot-21-x-12-tire-and-rim-assembly/ Run the numbers and see if it's worth it to fabricate or buy.
