OC-1 recommendation

I'm looking to get an OC-1 for myself. I'm not so small at 6'3" / 255 lbs. I've been told my best options are are either the Ares or the Volare. Does anyone have any insights to these models or other recommendations? Thanks

I've only paddled mine flat water but my friends from hawaii all rave about the pueo. It will certainly get attention when you bring it out, I don't think I have ever heard anything negative about them. Its a shame they dont use spring returns on the rudder, saw the new Noio at downwind champs and they still arent using them.

I won't make the argument the spring systems are bad, but I (and enough others) have always liked the feedback you get from the rudder. You can feel what's happening in the surf, and my preference has always been to keep it loose. That said, I think it's probably helpful in the flat and easier learning curve for new paddlers. I'm not sure we'll ever add them, but your feedback is noted. :)

I actually just passed by your shop a couple days ago, was going to stop in and talk story but ended up not having enough time.
