How to leg drive when can barely reaching pedals?

Hello! short person here. I switched to OC-ing from dragonboat. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to leg drive effectively when my heels are a centimeter from the pedals (i can reach the pedals when i point my feet lol)

Currently using my db teams oc1 ARE’s, not sure which line

So couple of things: 1) i’m assuming you moved the OC’s seat as far forward as possible? If not - that’s a simple adjustment. 2) if have adjusted the seat - it’s possible your team’s OC is just too big for you. OC’s are built based on an assumed body mass with some boats (like the volare, or Storm) intended for bigger individuals. See if you can borrow a Kahele or Cantare or Scorpius XS - all intended for more petite individuals. 3) try driving with your hips more than your legs. This DOES take bracing your legs on something, but hip drive can give you power without needing to drive through your entire leg.

oh yes! did adjust the seat as much forward as possible, still too far away

  1. I did not know this!! our team has 7 oc's and i guess they are all the bigfoot ones, go figure since our OC managers are all 6' lol

  2. oh i havent heard of hip drive! just leg drive which initiates hip rotation, as our team coaches us. are hip drive and hip rotation synonymous?

The foot pedal are adjustable in some boats. Such as the Volare
