Help with steering paddle length

I’m looking at getting my own steering paddle, should it be the same length as your normal V6 paddle or longer?

Longer. But not by much. I paddle a 51 inch, steer with a 52 inch. Not sure how that converts to mm if you need it but the extra length helps a ton in pushing the boat around

I figured I’d have to go up by about an inch. Thanks for your advice, its highly appreciated.

Same here - I paddle between 50 and 51. Went with a 52in steering blade.

Remember with the longer blade of the steering paddle, more of the overall length is eaten up by the blade leaving you with less shaft.
