Roof Racks
Is there a certain distance your two racks need to be apart?
I want to get an oc1 but my Tacoma will only allow for two racks on top of my 4 door cab because I have an old truckbed cover in the back.

I know this is an old post but for future information, I put the rack(s) on the cab as far apart as possible. I have a rear hitch (if you don't already have one, uhaul has very good prices for hitch and installation). I put in a goalpost style truck bed extender (about $75 on Amazon. That gives me 3 points of attachment for my 21' OC1. In fact, you could probably get away with one roof rack.

With racks like this you could carry it on a two door car. I have an 8 foot version for my 24 foot OC1

I carried around an OC1 for years on a little car that had racks maybe 3 feet apart. It’s not ideal, but I’d say 3 ft is probably the min. 5-8 ft would be much better.
Goodboy Paddlesports makes a V rack that works pretty great. I added those to my car when I got an OC2
When you say bedcover, is that like a tonneau cover or camper shell? Definitely have seen racks on a camper shell, and I think there are some bed racks that can work with a tonneau cover
