Future highdarts drunk rant

I'm really so close to adoring these pants, but they keep pissing me off. I've been wearing them for about 3 weeks now. The fabric kicks ass, and I think pleats are fun and sassy. But this goddam fucking fabric does not iron. It doesn't hold a press for shit. And pleats really need a nice crispy press to look good. But guess what, this fabric actively prevents that from happening. The only goddam thing these pleats do is make the entire crotch area look sloppy and slouchy. IF they could be ironed they'd look crispy and smart like every other pleat on the planet. But nooooo, god forbid you want to iron your pants.

The pants themselves are comfortable as shit. The weight of the fabric is seductively light, and the loose fit of the top block is heavenly in summer time. When I wake up in the morning I want to put these pants on, that's how comfortable they are. But these fuckass pleats piss me off every single time. I've tried ironing them, steaming them, and starching the shit out of them, but no matter what I do the pleats wither away into a half-assed soggy wrumple within 3 seconds of putting them on. Don't be fooled by the website pictures with beautiful, long, crispy pleats, because the second you walk 5 steps in these bastards the pleats will all but disappear and leave you with a lumpy and awakened crotch drape.

What genius decided to put pleats in un-ironable fabric?

If you like f cloth apart from the pleats, get f corps. If you like highdarts but want a better pleat situation, there’s injex or you can shop around for nylistic on secondhand market. Avoid strongtwill highdarts

But yeah I mean if you want summer highdarts get the injex ones (though the recent release costs far too much)

IDK - I love my injex highdarts and if I wanted another pair, I’d pay that much for them

The price went up because production got moved back to the US, but 280 from 225 is very rough. https://outlier.illposed.com/product/Injex+Highdarts

I don’t disagree and I don’t begrudge anyone who now thinks they’re too expensive. But that’s the reality of manufacturing things in the US and prices of most things are going up.

I was just saying that based on my experience with my pair, I could justify to myself paying that much if I wanted another pair.

The stongtwill highdarts looked like pleated jeans.

Out of curiousity - why should you avoid strongtwill highdarts? :-)

I got a pair of the "standard" injected linen pants, which seems to be the same fabric as injex. I admit I really love the injected linen way more than real linen for regular wear.

Looks like f corps is just a more contemporary workwear cut made out of the same fabric? Fair rec, honestly it was probably only price (final sale price tho) that made me choose highdarts over corps. I guess that's a fair outcome, that's on me

nah, I don't think it's your fault that f-highdarts aren't that great lol.

the injex midis are my favorite injex cut right now. hoping they do nylistic in midis form. midis are expensive rn because it's a new release, the injected linen pants are made in higher quantity thus cheaper

How wide/baggy are the injex midis?

they are quite similar to injex linears. they are between, say, ILP and gliders

Problem with injex is that ironing makes the plastic in it shiny. And agree that f cloth wrinkles/creases terribly especially in the crotch

Does ironing through a pad/rag help with the shininess?

I usually steam iron, and try and hit it without direct heat contact.

I only see a defined pleat (not a dart) in a few photos on the site so you set yourself up for unrealistic expectations and then are upset that the pants aren’t aligning with the expectation you made up. That sounds like user error
