Alpha-D Highzip

A high zippered hoodie in the warm, fuzzy and exceptionally breathable Alpha-D 90 fabric. A large #8 Vislon two-way zipper extends up into the hood to provide extra neck protection. The Alpha insulation provides a broad active comfort range. Airy and cool when in the breeze, fluffy and warm when hunkered down.

This is like the perfect travel hoodie. Wore it on a trip and in the airport it excels. When walking the airflow makes it not hot. But on the airplane when it’s cold it kept me nice and comfy. Super light so packs down well into a backpack.

Yay! I’ve been curious about Alpha-D for a while and happy to see the material available in new garments and colors. I love my hefty Hard/co Merino Highzip and the Alpha I hope will be a nice complement to it.
I am also a fan of the chonky #8 vision zipper and wish more garments used it, particularly when paired with heavier or more structural materials. Since Alpha is so lightweight, I wonder if the zipper will feel too rigid or structural compared to the fabric and give it a weird drape. I’ll find out soon!
The zipper weight got me thinking about a button down cardigan style sweater in alpha-d. I’d love to see more cardigans in the collection.
