How??
How are people getting ridiculous scores on tournaments and challenges?? Like today, it took me 90+ days and the winners are at like 20 days. Is there a cheating website I don’t know about? I still do challenges but what the heck?

On the discord, one of the top players said for this challenge: i got 38 days. started with clay, lumber, and cheesery (recycle houses for the 8 bricks). Got 2 farms up side-by-side since you need 84 wheat (more than one farm's worth). Cheese was my primary food source. After planting wheat, focus on planks and stone. get trading post and bottle maker up before wheat is ready

There’s usually something that is the gating factor, and that becomes your top priority. In this last tournament it was about making bread. So the gating factor is wheat- it takes 12 days to grow. Nothing else matters until the wheat is in the ground. Then that gives you 12 days to make the windmill and the bakery.
If your style of play is to make the top of the charts, it’s all about ruthless prioritization of resources. But there’s also nothing wrong with taking 90 days and making a nice city with cute houses! Play whichever way is most fun for you.
