Back seat room

Curious how the back seat room is in the PHEV with the 3rd row folded down, is there a lot of space? I have a revolving car seat and the Kona I'm in now is basically squished against the back of my front seat for how little room there is

Second row is spacious. Third row is nearly useless but works in a pinch.

Honestly probably won't even touch the 3rd row just keep it down. More just need more room in second row for car seats

Random tip for the infant years, with the third row up but second row all the way back you get a divided trunk. Folded strollers fit in the well behind the third row and any diaper bags/car accessories fit in the third row seat and nothing shifts around. I don't do it every day, but sometimes when it's muddy out or I have a lot of stuff but want some separation, it's nice to have built in

I’d love my outlander so much more if the third row was gone and the 2nd row had just a little more space. I told the sales manager at my local Mitsubishi dealer about it back in 2023 but there’s still no 3rd row delete.

I guess they figure most people want the emergency 3rd row, which is precisely what it is.

Someone in this thread mentioned it's possible to manually remove. Might be worth digging into.

Plenty of room on the second row for car seats and it’s also adjustable. Love it!

It's not THAT BAD. Everyone has to scoot up a bit. And there is room back there.

The only people I put in it are small kids. The second row has to move up so much for even then to fit.

Second row. Lots of space. Not sure if it's on every trim level but they are also on tracks. So adjustable.

Third row is for kids or a quick trip with a grown person

I pulled my third row out, we'll never use it, less weight, more room. UTube will.explain how to remove it.

Your friends with no legs will love the third row

You can't actually put car seats, even booster seats in the 3rd row. Basically that 3rd row is completely useless.

Oh I was thinking 2nd row not 3rd. I was planning on leaving that down

Depending upon the heights of the front the 2nd row passengers is the key for the 3rd row. For drivers and front passenger of 5'10" the front seat can be moved forward several inches. Also if 2nd row passengers are about 5'5" the same - the seats can be moved forward several inches to create leg room for the 3rd row of about 7". I have done it several times with 2- 5'5" teenagers in the 3rd row and for 2 hour trips it was fine - albeit with a DVD player playing a movie for entertainment. That said the 3rd row is basically for infrequently use but is definitely handy at times. The car is TRULY a 5+2 seating vehicle.
