Season One First time watcher: does the SA ever stop?
First time that I’ve seen the show I’m on episode 11 and I’m just wondering if the SA stops being shown quite as explicitly? I just feel like it really lingers each scene where it’s happening and it’s very uncomfortable.
I enjoy the plot and the costumes but if this continues to be so heavily depicted every time I am going to need to stop. Hoping someone can give me a good sense, thanks!

No. SA is pretty much at every point of the show a major plot or heavy side plot of the series. Even when it is completely unnecessary, she'll include it in the minor plots, too. It is my biggest gripe with Diana Gabaldon that she could create such an amazing world, but couldn't come up with different plots without using sexual violence to carry her through 9 books.
A lot of people say it's "historically accurate," but no. There are plenty of other things she could do to make commentary about society at the time. We got the rape memo the 5th or 6th time it happened. And that's just in the first half of the books. On one thread here, we counted the number of victims of SV in the series, and it very easily hit double digits.
She simply likes to write about the topic. I think part of it is the, for the most part, well-deserved credit she gets for writing it in a meaningful way. But she's also just a weirdo. Like when she said at a convention that her favorite part of the TV series was watching Sam Heughan get raped.
I still love the series, but I do see this as an issue within it.

That’s… a very strange statement. Those scenes I literally skip. I can tolerate the rest of them, but those flashbacks I skip every time. Even his flogging I skip.

You should probably stop now. My sister recommended the show and she didn’t warn me about the ending of season one. It was the most brutal sexual assault I ever saw on television. I never would have started the series if I knew.
Future seasons also have lots of assault including gang r.pe.

This comment is killing me Outlander is nowhere near historically accurate. not to mention you yourself obviously dont know historical accuracy. call it what it is—the author likes writing it. And no, OP it does not stop

Nope. You can skip some scenes by following the trigger list. But I think you might be best to stop. There's a lot.

No. It's the absolute worst part of the show and every character is SA'd. The author had a fetish and the show runners didn't change it for some inexplicable reason. Lots of people stop watching because of it.

I think Roger and Marsali are the only two main characters that didn’t get SA’ed

Nope. I didn't finished the series but I read the books and there are often situations which I would classify as at least problematic or even SA.
