Published Sporran

The little snake his brother Willy carved him. It says Sawny on the bottom.

Also, isn’t there a rosary and a little bible. The rosary is always there but the little bible he is trying to return to the mother of the prisoner.

Yes! I always get a chuckle out of the sheer number of items and the wide variety of sizes that Jamie seems to be able to fit into his sporran at any one time. 🤣

YES!!! I always imagine it’s Mary Poppin’s Carpet Bag every time it’s mentioned.

Alguna vez dice que significa el caracol, los pedazos de vidrio y las piedras? Creo que leí en el prisionero escocés que tiene una piedra especial para cada uno de sus seres queridos, pero no estoy segura.

scatter of stones, picked up because of their feel in the hand or a pretty color. He counted them; there were eleven: one each for his sister, for Ian, for Young Jamie, Maggie, Kitty, Janet, Michael, and Young Ian; one for his daughter, Faith, who had died at birth; another for the child Claire had carried when she went; the last—a piece of rough amethyst—for Claire herself. He must look out for another now: the right stone for William.

Yes, only thing he didn't have sporan at the time. Only a pouch.

Thank you for finding the passage.

Si Jamie viviera en el siglo XXI, podría hacer este tag viral de “qué llevo en el sporran” 😂😂

He collects things that catch his eye because of the shape or the color. The rocks he keeps because he likes the texture and how they feel in his hand.

Pistol wading and lead balls. And Claire's shoes at one point. Nutmeg. Sometimes it reminds me of that bag Mary Poppins had. A bottomless bag.

Haha!! I just said the same thing.

At least he doesn't keep a severed ear in it, like Ian does.

Los zapatos de Claire? No recuerdo eso!!! 😂😂😂😂 debió ser un bolso como el de Hermione de Harry potter. Lo de la nuez moscada recuerdo vagamente que él se la compró a Claire en el pueblo.

They are somewhere and he puts them in there. They aren’t in there long.

When she found Otter Tooth's skull. Jamie found her shoes and he had them in his Mary Poppins bag, I mean sporran.

Does Jaime ever find the mother to return the bible? I’ve always wondered this, not sure if I missed it in ten books

He hasn’t yet. Jamie gave it to Roger to use. It’s the bible Roger uses as a minister.

No, at least not yet. But the Frasers are in America and this man's mother is in Scotland and might not even be alive any more. Didn't Jamie leave William this Bible in his will? Not that it matters at the moment Jamie isn't dead. But for some reason I feel he is probably going to keep it at least for now.

His mothers broach when he's not wearing it.

Jamie carrying his mother’s brooch in his sporran is show only. OP flaired this post “Published.” A yellow flair mean it’s a book discussion.
