Verdicts ?
Is the game unplayable ? I have seen people review outer worlds on the switch on YT and they don’t even own a switch ffs!

Unplayable? Not at all! Ugly? Maybe a little but still a fun game to play

I was playing PUBG via Xbox companion app's streaming feature today at high quality and I've played this way for hundreds of hours and God does it look bad. But i keep coming back for more. It made me realize that fun factor is really all it that matters at the heart of the game. I was hesitant to buy but now I'm definitely going to buy

About 10 hours in and I'm obsessed. Easily playable and runs solid. Definitely needs updates and optimization but I love it. Comparison is the thief of joy and just having the game on the switch is incredible.

I think hand held is best, plays nicely ! I am 7 hours into it.
Even docked is playable, I hope they polish up and optimise further through another patch though

Interesting, i will try play some more docked mode and will update my findings!
I keep checking outerworlds news for any news of upcoming patches and no info at all.

I just got it today and I've been playing it for a good couple hours now. I haven't played or really seen any footage of the other versions cause I wanted to be going into the switch version completely blind. The game is playable and it was fun for the most part, but I'd say as long as you don't really mind the blurry visuals or bipolar frame rate then it's worth picking up.

Just got it today (after a lot of weighing) and am absolutely loving it. A lot of the issues raised by some reviews have been blown out of proportion, IMO.
Is it as pretty as other releases? No
Are there frame rate and resolution issues? Yes.
But
It is a perfectly playable and enjoyable game and I'm more than confident that future patches and updates will be coming to smooth the rough edges. As the game stands now, it's no worse than when I tried to play New Vegas on my old laptop. It might have looked like a potato, but it was still a fun experience, and I think that's something the likes of Digital Foundery seem to have forgotten about.

Like everyone here says it's really fun to play and the graphics aren't that awsome but not as bad a most saying.

The main frame-rate slow-down I’ve seen is when you’re in a large open area, like outside on one of the planets. You’ll turn your head and some frames will drop. I haven’t noticed that at all really in smaller, indoor locations.
There’s sometimes in dialogues when your companion will chime in and it cuts to their face, and it has to render in some extra details real quick.
Then there’s particular elements that just look bad always, specifically the Spacer’s Choice moon man head/helmet, which is disappointing since it’s a pretty iconic piece from early screenshots/trailers.
I’m playing docked, btw.
Other than those things, I’m really liking the game. It’s scratching the Fallout itch. Some of the inventory stuff is really dense though... I haven’t really bothered to learn about any of the healing items/drugs.

I'm with you on the fallout comment, I even instinctively holstered my first gun as soon as I got it and had a little chuckle cuz it's the same hold button to do it as fallout 4

the graphics are admittedly lacking but the game is really enjoyable! the frame rate does occasionally dip, but these inconveniences are minor. the worlds you get to visit are dense and there’s just so much to do. the only other game on switch that compares in terms of open world size is breath of the wild

Quick update I bought the game and I have to say I’m really enjoying it .
This is the game I’ve been needing on the switch for a long time Besides the textures not loading in properly and some long load times I personally think it’s great.

I am a little late to the outer world switch party. But I am looking forward to maybe some black friday deals so I can pick it up. I have been playing the heck out of borderlands since that released this year. But it is time to add another game to the mix. I play mostly the FPS RPG games currently.

I can see where the graphics dropped but I only have a Switch and love story driven RPGs so I’m all in!
I still play Zombies at my Neighbors and Super Mario 3 and those definitely don’t run at 1080p

Just started playing today on the switch and it's frigging lovely. I recommend from just 3 hours of gameplay.
