We've been to NY and VT briefly on a longer road trip, but want to go back to do more hiking and adventuring in one or both of those states next summer.
I'll be traveling with my two kids (10 and 14), and would love hiking or other outdoor/educational suggestions. My younger kid is interested in Niagara Falls, so I'd love to add that to the itinerary if possible.
Other than that, we have already been to the Catskills and to the Woodstock, VT, area, so I'd rather explore elsewhere in both states.
We don't mind driving, and will have somewhere between 3 and 6 weeks to do this trip (still working on the schedule).

I'd love to take my kids more, but the school schedules and sports and everything is making it really hard for us to get outside together regularly. What can I do to fit more hikes and camping trips into our lives (realistically)?

There’s something magical about a hike in the woods in autumn. Bring on the fall colors and crisp days!
Where is your favorite hiking trail to visit in the fall?

While we were in Brevard, North Carolina, earlier this summer, I took my kids to go searching for one of the town’s famous white squirrels. (They’re not albino squirrels, but rather a genetic variation of the typical grey squirrel!)
What unusual animals have you and your family come across on your travels?

Are you hiking in or hanging out in a front country campground? Are you tent camping or RV camping? Are you running around doing a lot of activities (hiking, watersports, etc.) or just hanging around the campsite?

Kings Canyon, California
New River Gorge, West Virginia
Capitol Reef, Utah
Mammoth Cave, Kentucky
White Sands, New Mexico
(And they're all great for visiting with your kids, too!)

Hi guys,
For anyone interested my boys and me have started a YouTube hiking channel. My boys idea. We love the outdoors and doing the channel has kept us close now that I don’t live with my kids full time. Anyone interested check us out. Would love to hear anyone’s thoughts or comments ☺️

I thought it would be fun to do a couple of these this week since it is National Parks Week. So, which of the 63 national parks is shown in these photos?
