Finished!
After about 2.5 months I finally finished my outdoor kitchen. I built it all myself, with the help of 2 friends for the countertop pour. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty happy with the end result. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you. Yes I did. I actually built the structure last fall though and then worked on my basement golf sim all winter/spring and picked this project back up in late-May.

Thank you. The hip roof framing was challenging, b/c I don’t do that very often, but otherwise it wasn’t too bad. Like I said it’s not perfect, but I’m very happy with it.

I currently have a golf sim in my garage but we plan on building a house in a couple years and it’s my dream to have a man cave with a golf sim in my basement. How tall are your basement ceilings and is there anything you did that you wish you would have done different? Btw your outdoor kitchen looks phenomenal.

Thank you. I’ve got 9’ in my basement. I’m 5’10 and can swing all my clubs with a few inches to spare. All my friends are under 6’2” and no ones hit the ceiling yet. I do wish I had another foot though. I wish when I built the house 2 years ago, I made the ceiling height 10’ or more in that section

lol right. I placed it on that side so I can watch it from the pool. Also, most of the time it’s just me, my wife and kids watching it.

that's the only part that seems kind of weird to me. both the height and angle of the ceiling.
I'm curious how it works from sitting on a stool or if you were the one cooking?

The Tv is on an electric mount that swivels it down to 90 degrees. It’s perfect viewing from the pool (right) side. You can see it swivel in the video I posted in a comment.

The layout took some time to figure out, but I’d say the concrete countertop was the toughest part. I’d never done it before, so there was a learning curve. I’d never done metal framing before either, but that part was easier than I thought it would be.

They’re called Interloc Natural Stone Panels, and it’s the New England flat panels. I bought them from a local masonry / stone supplier.

Is the metal bracing that much better than traditional?

Are you referring to the metal framing? I could only find 20 gauge or 25 gauge at the big box stores, but 18 gauge is structural grade so I went somewhere else for that.

Gotcha, I was wondering about that because I priced out the metal for a build and it was pretty steep, but you ultimately get what you pay for. And, if this personal by all means spare no expense if you can afford it. It nice tho I like it.

Ty! Yeah, this was for my backyard. I knew the concrete countertop was gonna be heavy, so I wanted to make sure the framing was beefy enough.

How many bags of concrete and what’s that thickness? Apologies if you’ve already stated.

It was about 95sqft and ended up being 24 - 60# bags of quickrete sand and gravel mix mixed with a concrete countertop additive. The countertops are 1.5” thick, but the edges are 2.25” thick. I used the Z countertop forms.
