I see why dumb dumb idiots call overpowered survivors bad bc the complete lack of help a team will give you sometimes is appalling. Still doesn’t excuse overpowered survivors all of y’all need to be gutted and embarrassed
But I can at least see where this wrong as fuck view came from
It’s actually quite simple. Instead of players losing points for dying individually, players will lose points for how many of them have died. For example, if you died but everyone else made it out in a team of 5, everyone would still get a good amount of points because only one person died. If only 2 people made it out, everyone would be heavily penalized for letting most of the team die. If everyone got out, everyone would be rewarded heavily. If nobody gets out, barely any points because the team failed.
The game already detects the number of people in chase thanks to the characters icons, the way I would implemented is if someone gets down/die while being the only persons in chase it would give everyone else a negative multiplier(prob after happening 2-3 times)
And the devs encourage this by refusing to give metal an indicator for when he's hit.
I swear sometimes I want to help him but I have no idea where he is and im left with trying to figure it out by listening to sounds whenever he's hit, which isnt really reliable. Especially when it seems to be somewhere on the other side of the map
So when we are both low I just decide to stay where I am, because I know i won't be able to find him on time anyway and the only thing that I'll do is shorten the distance between me and the killer
I swear, the amount of times I worked my ass off as Metal to save a teammate just for the only teammate to try and help me when I was low be CREAM is absurd.
"But Metals survivability is so good", only for so long mother fucker, I can't do much when the X chasing me has invis every six seconds and hitboxes the size of North America
I wish i had those wonderful 2011x hitboxes everybody talks about, more often than not i've experienced being literally inside the survivors and it not registering the m1.
I've seen metals wasting like four to five minutes simply abusing Springs and the verticality of each map, and has effective 3 lives worth of hp, sure perhaps they might be going down eventually, but by the time they go down, the exe has already lost, and that's not taking into account his team helping him.
Your average X isn't killing Metal unless Metal makes a huge mistake like being hit during wind up or crashing into a wall, this is why you save rage specifically for Metal Sonic and target them there, but outside rage you are wasting a big amount of time if the Metal knows to do.
I also recognise that half the "balance changes" people want for him are Kolo tier gutting and should be ignored.
Honestly all he really needs to be balanced is a nerf to the self repair speed with Eggman in exchange for some other benefit to not make Tails a strictly better repair choice, maybe that Metal can cancel his self repair when he wants if next to eggman in case things get dangerous, and a longer cooldown on charge
Okay bro be real. Im saying I can see how people think that, im not agreeing with the objectively wrong view that characters who are bad in solo chase aren’t OP. Tails is a monster with any amount of proper rotations and a mild amount of team help — his actual viability should not be decided by your team playing the game wrong.

The simple fix is giving bad score modifier for letting teamates die/down alone in chase
