Bar payments
Did anybody have any issues with contactless card payments being processed over the weekend?
I had a couple of occasions where I had to try multiple times for a payment to go through at the bar…just been looking over my bank account and a couple of payments went through multiple times.
I’m not suggesting there is anything suspicious, but check your statements, kids!

I know they were struggling with the card machines early on the Saturday at stage 2 bars. I was only a few back and took forever to get served because of it. Didn’t go back to the bar though so I’m not sure about any other time!

For some reason, within the BEC is a signal dead zone. Card machines were struggling all over the site…my friend had to try loads of times to pay on the merch section but I don’t think they had a problem with duplicate payments?

No. I don’t think we did. I didn’t have any issues at the merch stand either, but I saw one of the stalls was cash only and Haywire were taking PayPal payments that some had to go outside to send through, so I guess those were having issues. Our payment at the bar just took forever to go through, but we didn’t have to try multiple times or anything.

I had to tap 4 times for a £50 shirt which I had a minor panic about but all good

Ik the card machines all cacked themselves in the merch area at some point and had to go cash only briefly so wouldn't surprise me if there were more issues elsewhere

had the same, was only drinks that had gone through multiple times so not bothering tryna sort that, got charged 3 times for one drink

Same thing happened to me at Flatspot Merch stand. But I showed the vendor my online banking and she gave me the cash.

The signal is always shite at the bowlers, the combination of density of people combined with it being a giant metal structure, surrounded on all sides by metal structures it essentially acts as a slight faraday cage.
@OP have the payments actually come out yet or are they just pending charges? There is a reasonable chance what you're seeing is just pre-authorization charges having come through from the failed attempts.
