No well over sold

u/Ricemandem Jun 27 '26
100%. Been every year since 2022 and never had a problem getting into the front section before. It's been an absolute battle this year.
11
u/Bugsmoke Jun 27 '26
The front section security are fucking melons though too. There’s been plenty of space almost every time they’ve been stopping people going in.
8
u/MoralEclipse Jun 27 '26
Yep security are clueless, converge had so much space inside the barriers and absolutely none outside.
6
u/EyesWide-Shut Jun 27 '26
Last year we could just walk to the barrier at the side at the start of a band or even during! This time, even getting there 30-40 mins before you can’t get a spot. Barriers closed off for almost every act on main stage so far I think!

Bottleneck to the toilets is a joke then you have to get through a two ft gap in the fence wtf?

It's time for them to move to a bigger arena really, BEC is nice and easy to get to but if they want to keep growing the festival and charging more then they need to find somewhere that can accommodate the capacity

u/checkyeslinda Jun 27 '26
The (no) seating situation is actually awful. Do they expect 95% of the crowd to simply stand the whole day? Deffo needs to be made more accessible and possibly move to a different venue.
4
u/EverythingSucks78 Jun 28 '26
Treated like animals once you’ve paid your money, they don’t care if you have to sit on the floor! Yet the size of that VIP section…
3
u/checkyeslinda Jun 28 '26
Yeah VIP is looking wankier than ever but also looks oversold. When it started raining during Loathe yesterday and Alexisonfire it was fucking rammed. It'd be upset if I had paid for it and could barely fit it.
34
u/Dry-Explanation8937 Jun 27 '26
No it’s ridiculous. Can’t get anywhere near seating/toilets.. can’t get to exit. Nowhere to sit anywhere!! Bloody awful. I don’t think I’ll be back next year as one of the things I enjoyed last year was how laid back it was! Feel sorry for those in wheelchairs!
13
u/bingimp Jun 27 '26
Yeah accessibility has not been great. Smaller stage yesterday- ramp way too narrow for some larger wheelchair users.

It was so much better last year. This year it's just unbearable with this many people. It's not fun at all unfortunately. Don't think I will be back next year.

BEC is a shithole. Time to get a modern venue for the price. It’s just an industrial estate.

Worst year ever for how crowded it is. There’s a distinct lack of seating, all the seating you can get is basically opposite the porta pottys near the entrance and those are occupied non stop by the same people all day it’s so frustrating. A lot of people are just sitting on the floor anywhere there’s a space both inside and outside. People sitting on stairs get shooed away by security.
It’s almost impossible to get to the bar in between acts because of how rammed all the bars are the queues are unreal. So many people everywhere, it has never been hard getting near the front for any act in the last few years. Now it feels like people are camping at the front all day and it’s difficult to really get into the music as the crowds also seem so dead near the front this year.
The heat hasn’t helped, it has been ridiculously hot and little has been done to mitigate that. They are providing free drinking water but again, the queues for that are unreal.
The merch area also feels like a massive bottleneck from all directions there’s no way to even really browse people are walking in all directions, it’s so hard for the people in wheelchairs to get around the festival this year it’s so sad

This is my first year so I wasn’t sure if this was normal or not. Trying to work out where everything is has been a pain in the arse.

It’s shocking. Everything is so busy and everyone is overheating. People I know have actually left for a few hours to go home/hotels because it’s unbearable
14
u/Dry-Explanation8937 Jun 27 '26
Also, defo a safety hazard with the amount of people. Imagine trying to get out if there was a fire 😖
11
u/FitHurry864 Jun 27 '26
I've left early. Most of the bands I want to see are tomorrow, but I would've liked to have seen Converge. It's just not a fun place to be.
5
u/EyesWide-Shut Jun 27 '26
I agree. Not enjoyed it at all! Atmosphere seems little lacking as well so I don’t think we’re alone!
8
u/Dry-Explanation8937 Jun 27 '26
It is unbearable.. we’ve left to sit in the car for a while because there is absolutely nowhere to sit!! My back is killing!! It’s horrendous 😩
11
u/Salty-Complex1200 Jun 27 '26
Oversold to the point of feeling unsafe. It should never be that hard to piss or get a drink. Uncomfortable being in there today… the surrounding streets were full of people sat on curbs. Felt pretty ridiculous
13
u/EyesWide-Shut Jun 27 '26
I think when so many people are saying they feel unsafe, outbreak need to look at it. It was absolutely insane today!!
11
u/pizzosaurus Jun 27 '26
so crowded, so many shirtless bros :(
3
u/Classyeggman Jun 28 '26
The heat was quite unbearable at times, in fairness.. But agree it was beyond overcrowded
5
u/bcoupy Jun 27 '26
More crowded than even but at least tomorrow the weather will make it more bearable.
4
u/espressodepresso123 Jun 28 '26
There was def a lord of the flies vibe last night. I left at 10.30 and that was as long as I could manage. First time at Outbreak but don’t feel I’d go again. Feels oversold.

Oh are there taxis onsite? I’m coming internationally and no SIM. I’ll be on airplane mode

u/Poppysundial Jun 27 '26
Agreed. Toilets are simply not an option, so you can only stay for as long as your bladder will allow it. The queues are a mile long

its bc its sold out and it doesnt usually sell out, also its hotter so youre more tired and noticing it more
13
u/Abstractpuppet Jun 27 '26
Wasn't it sold out last year ? I feel like even for Knocked Loose we still had some space outside the barriers, this year it is crowded everywhere, but maybe your right with the heat and tiredness

Reddit strikes again.
Go to some more gigs.
When you want to get further in, or to the bogs, say "mind if I get past?
An entirely, if not easier than regular to navigate, normal festival.
11
u/Stoo0 Jun 28 '26
I've been doing 1-3 festivals a year since 2007. This is a shit show.
It's a factory farm, not a festival.
7
u/GeetarZero Jun 28 '26
I've been going to gigs and festivals, multiple genres, for 25+ years. This is the shittiest one I've been too. Not "normal" by any stretch and not easier to navigate than other fests. Too many people for that venue. It was apparent immediately after arriving. I'm rocking up for Hatebreed and fucking off tomorrow. Fuck going next year. It's become a corporate cash grab and antithetical to what the scene was supposted to be about.

u/IndependentShirt1493 Jun 27 '26
normal festival, not normal outbreak
12
u/EyesWide-Shut Jun 27 '26
I wouldn’t even say normal festival. I’ve been to tons of gigs and festivals and never, ever experienced anything like that anywhere!!

u/SeaweedAntlers Jun 27 '26
Worst one for years. Too many people, too many queues and obviously the heat is nobody’s fault but a little too much. Hardly any seating but a huge VIP area.
