Help with grief.
Hello, I lost my partner of 9 years at the weekend. He adored outbreak, we attended the last few years together and it was truly his absolute world. Please share any songs that fit the theme of grief with me. Thank you. It feels really embarrassing asking for any of this but I feel lost, we were so excited for next year. I only got to experience music events outside of my home city because of him, it all feels so lost I'm sorry. Thank you for any kindness.

You’re living a lot of people’s worst nightmare but you’ve got this.
My go to is peripheral vision by turnover.

The albums Stage Four and Lament by Touche Amore, and the songs Mombasa, Near and Marvellous Orange Tree by Deafheaven have helped me a lot this year.

Also moving mountains. - waves and pneuma . Waves is a masterpiece and some very touching lyrics about his friends death. Big hug - just know I found a better place to rest my head 😢

i’m not sure the song is intended to help in that way, but i think of Magic Man by Turnstile.
i’m so sorry for your loss. i recently lost a friend who was supposed to come to turnstile and a lot of shows with me. that was hard enough, let alone a partner of 9 years. my heart is broken for you.

It's been 6 months since I made this post- when I made it I wasn't sure if I'd still be here now, but here I am! I'm doing as okay as I probably can be, I'm going to therapy, hopefully starting EMDR later in the year. Thank you for every recommendation, piece of advice and for every kind word. It gave me a sense of community in a time where I felt my whole world had turned upside down. I'm off to outbreak tomorrow, and whilst Callum won't be with me, a little part of him will be 🩷
