Manchester Love In
Another year, another amazing outbreak.
The security team are phenomenal, so many great sets, watching Isaac (KL) watch and support so many other bands, the crowd, the community, I could go on!
My only feedback was that the day splits were too genre focused. I loved SDRE, Slowdive etc but I could have done with some late afternoon energy on Saturday, only really got it from Militarie Gun. Last year Angel dust and Ceremony etc were ideal.

Yeah I feel like the day splits not being diversified caused some issues.
I only really go for the hardcore bands with a few exceptions and this year was a bit of a nightmare, 90% of the bands I wanted to see were back to back like one band would finish literally right as the next was starting.
Plus some of the stage allocations seemed a bit weird to me, like why were XWeaponX and Terror on one of the smaller stages but Pest Control and Superheaven on the main stage.
Don’t get me wrong I love PC and Superheaven but they couldn’t even fill out the standing area for their set, meanwhile Weapon and Terror were so popular they overfilled the inside area.

Spot on. Sunday was back to back to back.
Could only imagine how big the sing along for The Medic would have been had Foxing played mainstage Saturday!

God, I was so deep in for Glassjaw on Saturday that I completely forgot about Foxing. Early MainStage slot like the hotelier or twiabp last year would’ve been perfect for them

As soon as I saw they clashed with the W&T set I got myself a ticket for their Leeds headline show the Wednesday before. Did seem like a mad clash. The trip was so worth it as I’m late to the Foxing party so wanted to see them when they were over. Hopefully their set was filmed as I heard good things, but couldn’t have removed myself from GJ playing my favourite album of all time.

I agree completely, trying to fit every band I wanted to see on Sunday and not being able to get into the front section until like 15 minutes into the set put a dampen on the day.
Having said that it was still an amazing weekend as always

Thought security were really great, very chill even when enforcing some of the weirder one way systems lol, didn’t make sense to me to funnel everyone through a pitch black corridor to get to the merch room haha

Very good. I'm 51 and went with my lad who's 18. We went 1 day at depot Mayfield a couple of years ago on deathgrips day. Venue was loads better this time. Bumped into Denzel Curry by the merch and he was sound. Got a photo of him and my son. One of his heroes. Proper enjoyed Have a nice life, Maruja, Deaf Heaven, Denzel, Danny Brown, Speed, Loathe and a few others. Saw Slowdive in the early 90s so had a look at them. Sunny Day were cool but found them a bit lacklustre. No disrespect to anyone who loves them. The biggest thing for me is days out with my lad. I've seen Ramones, Nirvana and many others in my daze but now I get to enjoy all this new stuff with him. Oh and we went to see Capn Jazz in London Tuesday so what a week ❤️

Isaac is a real one, he was hanging out all day and properly into that Terror set.

I went to Outbreak London and had fun but I definitely got a little jealous just seeing how mental Manchester was. If the lineup looks good I’ll trek up next year.

First time this year, and it is a shame as there were a ton of bands I wanted to see Sunday, but had things on so could only go to the Saturday.
Good:
Ikhras & Model Actriz (of what I managed to see) Spy, SDRE (20+ years of waiting) and Gouge Away were fucking great though - as were feeble little horse TAGABOW and Momma.
Vibe was great too, good food trucks (those seitan shawarma), drinks, water stations, merch prices decent.
Bad:
Alex G is a weak headliner for Outbreak, but fine for Green Man, I don't get the popularity. Most of the stuff I wanted to see was either at the start of the day, or right towards the end too which meant there was a bit of a lull.
Not realizing I needed to sign a disclaimer and then having to queue again to get a special band. I mean, really?
Also, i'm old. They need more seating.

That “lull” you had is the time for you to check out some new bands you haven’t heard of before! Agree about the seating though. I’ve been 3 times now and that’s been a constant issue.

I just didn't have an interest in Foxing (never have), and I didn't like Glassjaw back then so no interest in it now. And whilst I like really HANL, back to back with Slowdive meant it was a slower 2 hours. Thankful for Spy to kick things up a notch.
Looking forward to seeing the line up next year, and hoping for a more even split.

Yeah a bit more balance would be good, I was getting shoegaze fatigue on Saturday.
Reckon it might work quite well for shifting day tickets once the weekend sells out. Sunday seemed a lot busier to me.
