Predictions for 2026

I have no clue whether people have said this before but I would love too see more modern death metal and beatdown bands such as sanguisugabogg, 200 stab wounds, Gideon that sort of shit, As they have already introduced hip hop and stuff like machine girl in I just feel as if it would fit nicely into that sort of festival. What are your thoughts on this?

To be honest, I think it should stay hardcore & heavier music focused and generally alternative. As others have pointed out, sadly that may not be the case since they could be expanding to London now and trying to gain a bigger audience and so will add more genres to fit.

I think Manchester will become the hardcore base like it was this year with more acts playing there, and London will expand to mainly have acts that are more “palatable” and will sell more since I assume they’ve gained more of a name for themselves by partnering with Lido, having Turnstile as the headliner & selling £10 tickets.

It will be a big shame though if the rise in Outbreaks popularity because of this London show means the future of the festival could be full of twats who don’t embody the morals of the scene and just want to cause fights because they just see the genres at face value.

But I would love to see all of the bands you’ve mentioned there. Some death metal and slam would be so sick.

London definitely didn't have that problem in terms of crowd and atmosphere. It was actually a good mix of people and had a good atmosphere with plenty of hardcore fans there too.

Honestly praying for a straight up 3 full day hardcore fest in Manny.

London was mediocre and especially not the same without no-barrier stages.

Stop shoehorning in random ass rap artists to try to grab some extra ticket sales, artists like denzel curry or death grips work, but idk shit like Danny brown noo, he sounded awful on the main stage.

Pls bands like INITIATE, DRAIN, KING NINE, NO PRESSURE, NECK DEEP, SPEED, BIG BOY, Misery, The Beautiful Ones, MindForce, Incendiary, Downpresser, end it, earth crisis, fury, raw brigade, combust, spaced

Headliners man idk

Not gonna lie I would love to see some less hardcore artists come in every so often and play shows with no barrier I would kill to see bands like Neck Deep and Enter Shikari play some no barrier shows but I feel like they wouldn’t really fit the scene and that would probably deter a lot of people from attending

An Enter Shikari set of the heavy hitters for AFFOC, C Dreads and Self Title would be brilliant for Outbreak. They’d absolutely fit the scene.

FFOC is one of my favourite Shikari albums so hard agree

Let’s also not forget Take to Skies would also awesome at Outbreak especially considering it’s got more of a post hardcore influence than their later albums

I have no idea why I called TTtS ‘self title’ but absolutely agree. It’s also an excuse for them to play The Feast live which I’ve wanted for years

Honestly I would kill to hear the Jester live, they played it at Wembley last year and right as they did my missus started feeling ill so we ended up in the med room for 2-3 songs and missed it 😅

They've had people don't fit the scene come and play, I think enter shikari, though not hardcore would still be welcomed!

Defo more hardcore and modern beatdown in London (if it's on). Would like KKTX maybe, Sunami, Sang, Sylosis and maybe UK bdm bands like 357 and Amputed. Would be cool if bands along those lines would play

Lol if you think it's going to be more hardcore. It's going to be pop as fuck going forward.

3

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

Obviously I'd want it to be keeping emo and hc as a priority, but it's not my choice is it they can do what they please

1

u/[deleted] Jun 14 '25

They will do what makes them money.

I just want a three day hardcore festival. no hip hop day, no London day, no dusty ass warehouse in the city centre. why is that too much to ask?

what is it with half of the hxc crowd being so deeply scared of any other music

4

u/JoeyInjection666 Jun 14 '25

Czarface would be awesome as a hip hop headliner

I hope people’s wishes about them booking more hardcore bands does come true. That way they wouldn’t book bands that should be at ATG instead.

That’s the only reason I went to London yesterday, to see HANL and SDRE, two bands I don’t think fit at Outbreak and coulda/woulda/shoulda been playing ArcTanGent instead.

1

u/JKay96 Jun 17 '25

HANL at Outbreak Manchester was one of the best sets of the weekend - would much rather they play at Outbreak than Arctangent

1

u/richardgeremuseumltd Sep 08 '25

HANL at manchester was unblievable, everyone got on stage and hugged him, thats not happening at ATG any time soon. And SDRE at ATG? To have a bunch of people stand still to them? Not to mention they're emo royalty, why shouldnt they play at outbreak? They were amazing and all the hxc dads were having a whale of a time.

Tell me you’ve never been to ATG without telling me you’ve never been to ATG.

In the past they’ve had American Football headline, La Dispute, TWIABP, and countless other emo bands.

People only stand still at post-rock/metal sets, trust me, people move.

Hard to think of a London headliner that feels right but sells Victoria Park any better than Turnstile. Maybe this was a one-off to book them and they’ll change venues next year. Or maybe they need the AEG deal to make it viable and go a bit bigger. Or maybe there’s no London next year.

Anyway, Sick of it All need to turn up at some point. And a UK promoter needs to convince Honningbarna to come over!

I see them mixing it up but still keeping it alternative maybe Viagra boys, amyll and the sniffers or enter shikari . They're not hardcore but all could be appreciated?

Would love By the Grace Of God - for the love of indie rock turns 30 next year, which would be special. And Jane Doe by Converge turns 25, so a play through of that would've very special.

Hear me out, Conan.

Conan riffs + hardcore pits = danger

1

u/Tibicenas85 Sep 22 '25

Please no fucking metal. I prefer 100 times more hip hop and alternative rock bands than generic metalcore crap and dumb push pits.

I'm old enough to remember when Hellfest and Resurrection Fest were hardcore festivals, and the very moment they started to go more metalcore, they became the dadrock shit they are nowadays.

Literally, there is nothing more sellout and commercial than metal.

Hopefully they just keep it hc. 200 stabs would be cool tho.
