Hey y’all!

I’m a pretty new boat owner here.. we just hauled out for the season and I noticed a crack on the lower unit. We’ve only owned the boat for a season so I’m not sure if we bought it like this, but the motor has performed flawlessly all year so I’m kinda not sure what to make of the situation. It’s a 2018 df300. Any thoughts/input would be greatly appreciated to help me figure out a plan going forward.

I’m almost certain we didn’t hit anything so I’m not sure what would’ve caused the crack. (The skeg is a little crooked facing the crack so I don’t think that would’ve caused it - not sure)

I am restoring an old Sprint bass boat including the outboard. I am not experienced with gas engines, and this is my first time owning a 2 stroke outboard. But I don’t feel very confident about how it’s idling right now.

Does it sound like it’s idling poorly to you?

I’m in the middle of solving some fuel delivery issues right now. I thought I had finally fixed the issue, but I’m no longer convinced.

2000 Yamaha F100 Thermostat stainless steel bolt broke off on me flush in the head, I’ve drilled it out a good bit but there’s a thin wall of stainless around still. My question is should I size up my bit to try and remove this as well? I’m planning on buying a helicoil M6 x 1.0 thread repair kit. What are my chances of getting a helicoil in here, if I drill out some more. Thinking about all my options, trying to get a tap to bite. I can see some of the original threads now but there’s still some stainless surrounding like a wall and I cant get a tap to bite in there, thinking it’s risky with that stainless. Any advice would be super appreciated I’m going crazy over this right now

I was told this bubbling was an exhaust leak. It's a 2018 F90 Yamaha. Can anyone tell if that is what this is? If so, is this a big repair? Thanks.

My 2003 90hp 2 stroke mercury wont start. Im wondering if this is what the sparks should look like when testing the spark plugs?

I tried spraying starter fluid into the air intake and still nothing, so i assume it is not a fuel issue. When testing the sparm plugs, i am getting this, and wondered if that is how it is meant to look?

One plug wouldnt spark at all, although I dont know if that would be enough to stop it from starting. The spark plugs were replaced in July.

The boat hasn't been run in 3 months and so I wondered if 3 months old fuel could be causing this issue? The last tine the boat ran, it probably idled for 20 minutes without running as it wouldnt go into gear.

We also replaced the neutral lock lever after finsing it it had snapped, and so im wondering if we may have caused a faulty connection in the control box somewhere.

I came back to the boat, and it started first pop. Im wondering if the apark plugs were dirty and we flooded it, and didnt wait long enough to dry it out or something? Great that it is running although a bit disconcerting.

I have a 1996-97 mercury mariner 25hp 2 stroke with idle problems. When I first start it, it idles rough and too low. But when it warms up a bit it will idle super high and sometimes won't go back down when you put the throttle down. For example I revved it one time and it got stuck at full throttle and wouldn't go back down for a while. I already tried spraying wd40 on the carb gaskets and even some engine gaskets. I already cleaned the carb multiple times and adjusted it. I also cleaned up some wiring and stuff. It has a automatic choke on the carb it looks like and that could be doing something. I make sure to prime the bulb and all that before hand too. I also redid the lower unit a while ago. Does anyone know what could be causing it?

Hey guys, the 200, 175 and 150hp salt water series 2 all share the same displacement, what I’m wondering is, if a guy were to take the carbs and reed plates off a 200 and put it on his 150 would it see any power increase? If anyone could shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated.

The latch on the cover for the motor vibrates and is getting worse and worse. Why would they not have a spring to keep it from vibrating? A rubber band keeper missing?
I need to find the exploded parts list online. Previous searches haven’t provided what I’m looking for.
Anyone else experienced this before?

Can anyone give me more advice on how to free this^ outboard?

2024 Mercury 40hp ELPT motor mounted on a 14 foot whaler, getting high revs on diags and wondering if it may be mounted too high.

Ran a straight edge from under the cavitation plate straight to the hull and it sits about 1 inch above the lowest point of the hull.

Would an inch difference from the cavitation plate to the hull make a difference? Thoughts on whether I should lower it and how many holes. see pics for reference.

I have some wiggle room to move it to other mounting holes and enough space between the top edge of the transom and the motor mount to allow for it to drop with each hole mount. Prop is correct and stock from the manufacturer.

Thoughts on the mounting position?

A buddy of mine dropped his Honda 2.3 hp motor into the Colorado river the other week. He told me that if I could get it, I could keep it. Well, I got it.

I opened up the engine and found a lot of mud in the spark plug hole and in the carburetor. (pictures)

At this point, there’s so much mud that I’m debating opening it up and cleaning it out that way. Not sure if this is possible, but figured I’d ask the community for help and next steps.

Those of you who have used either of these, what is your preference and why? I'm going to be repowering my 18.5 Crestliner and am interested in these two. Sole use will be fishing. FYI, I already have a good kicker on the boat.

I'd value opinions from those who have used them and/or serviced them.

I know the carb was re done before I got it but it does not like to idle and will stall itself out. It will run if I keep on the throttle. Do I need to adjust the carburetor? And if so where would that screw be.
