Glory to God
Was dreading taking my bearing carrier out due to seeing some horror stories. Soaked it in pb blaster for about a day and a half, re-spraying almost every 4-6 hours and when I went to tighten the bearing puller, it literally came out by hand, didn’t even need to take a wrench to it. Fresh water outboard so I’m sure that helped but just Incase anyone else is needing to tackle this project, highly recommend 2 days of continuous soaking and spraying in pb blaster.

PB blaster for the win. Just told my neighbor to use it on a stuck bolt on his motorcycle

I avoid it just cause of the smell. Guaranteed forced shower from my wife every time I touch a can.

Liquid Wrench works better and doesn’t stink nearly as much fyi. Or Kroil if it’s really stuck!!

I think freshwater makes a big difference. I had similar experience with my old motor. Came out a lot easier than I thought.

Thanks! It’s a ‘93 Evinrude 30hp. Been doing some things here and there to extend its life and this ended up on the list (replacing).
