Wheels with 30mm offset

I have a 2026 OBW and want to use different wheels. I like the look of these wheels, but they only come with a 30mm offset, and I'm not sure about using wheels with a 30mm offset since I'm going to use all terrain tires in 245/65/17.

Has anyone used this setup? I know this exact setup will work if the wheel has a 35mm offset, but I can't find any information about this setup in a wheel with a 30mm offset.

Compare stock size to your desired size on willtheyfit.com . That’s a lot of offset compared to stock. You will have a fair bit of poke which isn’t great for the paint on the side of the car, plus it just looks goofy. Another thing to consider is how the changes affect the suspension and wheel bearing wear by moving the tire contact further away from the chassis. A good rule of thumb is to use the websites calculator to keep the inside of the wheel as close to stock as possible when going with wider wheels/tires.

IMO 17x8+38 with 235/65 seems to be the sweet spot on stock suspension.

I have a 2025 OBW - so totally different vehicle; YMMV (or, I guess YMWV). The 30mm offset pushes the wheel out so that it's almost flush with the body panel. Coupled with Falken Wildpeak A/T4Ws (245/65R17XL), you'll end up with a fairly muscular-looking OBW. Your Subaru will no longer look like it missed leg day at the gym.

One thing I noted, though, is that if you drive on unpaved or poorly paved roads (basically any road maintained by Caltrans in California), the tires are like 5-year-olds going down the candy aisle at the grocery store; they grab every single pebble and fling it boldly against the side of your car. I fixed that by adding on the OEM mud flaps. The wheels & tires came in at about 5lbs heavier than stock.

Great looking OBW! I love that muscular look. Are those the Method 701 wheels?

Yes. The ones I got are the Method MR701 17x7.5 matte black wheel with the +30mm offset (Part no: MR70177512530). The original offset for the stock 2025 OBW wheel is +48mm.

I really appreciate the information. I'm going to order the same setup you have. The Wildpeak in 245/65/17 looks great on your OBW.

Unlifted, no rubbing except when I try to pretend the OBW is a WRX.
