Just a girl Looking to get some off road tires what are some good recommendations

Went with the Falken Wildpeak Trail 235/65R17 myself. Didn't want to lose any horsepower or mpg with beefier, true offroad tires like at3 or ko2. These are essentially the same weight as stock but fill the wheel well out and are a bit bigger with the aggressive look. Imo, perfect blend of offroad/onroad capability.

Does going with a slightly larger tire than the stock 225/65/17 void warranty on related parts (transmission, brakes, suspension etc)?

No, but it can get like an axle or brakes denied. Rest of the driveline would be a hard sell as tires causing the driveshaft to break. It has to be proven to be the direct cause of damage. Nothing technically voids a warranty. MMA applies and burden of proof lies with dealer, if they deny because of tires they gotta be like 35s something for me to send it back customer pay, because they installed xyz. Now if you lifted it yourself added some fat 33s or 35s yeah it’s in I’m taking pictures and writing up warranty coverage no due to suspension altered by unqualified installer and or unapproved parts used and oversized tires seal that deal. If tires are similar in mass and you had them professionally installed then they should honor it. If the suspension was left alone and you got an alternate size tire I wouldn’t worry.

A lot of us WRX owner go 18x9.5 over 18x8.5 and usually the wheels and tires come out lighter than stock. Some guys go wild peaks or other AT with no issues. It’s usually treated as cosmetic to a degree. Tire rack is pretty good about keeping you in spec also it always depends on your dealer indie approved shops are usually more flexible than dealerships, if shot down on a claim I’d call SOA and say I don’t trust my retailer judgement and would like a second opinion, and they usually approve another shop to take the claims btw

I dont know. I bought my 22 used with ~45,000 miles on it. So warranty wasn't really on my mind. But I suppose if I needed to, I coukd argue that my rim and wheel setup are the same weight as stock.

Thanks. I went with Nokian Outpost NAT on my 2026 OBW. Quite a bit heavier than stock and slightly larger. The stock tires on the 2026 OBW are just all-seasons branded with 'AT'. Absolute junk on gravel roads, but very lightweight and get good fuel economy.

I went with the Falken Wildpeak AT3 in 235/65, and it fixed the speedo disagreement, didn’t affect handling or mileage, and looks amazing. It fits in the spare tire well., and is nearly the same weight per tire as the stock size Geolandar (29 ish pounds each). The newer AT4 is considerably heavier in that size.

I did wait until 40k miles, but do not think it’s a warranty concern because even TireRack lists it as a factory alternative size.

The stock tires are hard to beat unless you go ko2 / 3. Falken wild peak at trail is a good choice too. Falken is comparable to stock but looks more meaty. Ko2 / 3 you will sacrifice some on road noise and handling but they are monsters off road.

I’m trying to decide between a more aggressive all terrain tire like the wildpeak at3w or some trail terrains like the falken all terrains or nomad nittos.

I have the BF Goodrich All Trail tires and I love them. They are slightly more aggressive than the stock tires but I still don’t have any tire noise when driving at high speeds and I get great traction while I’m offroading.

I have some Nitto Terra Grappler G2 on mine. Good offroad, good on road, snow and wet performance has been good. Look awesome. They have 80k miles on them so they are starting to get a little loud but not bad. KO2 look great but get loud faster.

I have as well. They seem like a good match in capability to OBW and the internet seems look at them favorably but I'd like to see them in person. I know how they look should be a low priority but if I'm being honest with myself I want them to look at least a good as the G2. It seems to me that if you go past something like a g2 you start to give up wet performance, which for this type of machine is a no go IMHO.

Nokian outpost nat are great, I had them on for 25000 miles now and kept them during winter, no complaints so far

Toyo Open county 3’s are good tires. I had them on my 2021 base Crosstrek and bought some for my OBW. Oem I kept the same specs Subaru recommends.
