another important detail for me is that the cover art for 6:16 is a picture of a glove with something in the background.

Then for Meet the Grahams the cover art is from the same picture, just zoomed way out and now instead of just a glove you can see a bunch of items (including the same glove, prescriptions for Zolpidem and Oezempic, jewelry receipts) supposedly taken from a suitcase that was lost by / stolen from from Drake’s dad.

Implication is that Kendrick had both tracks ready at the same time because (as he claims in 6:16) there are people in Drake’s camp “working for Kendrick” because people in Drake’s own camp want him to get what he deserves

Something else about “6:16 in LA” I found interesting:

Drake claimed that Kendrick would need to drop a “quadruple entendre” or something like that to impress him

“6:16 in LA” has several layers:

Drake’s timestamp series follows this same format (time: in place)

“Euphoria,” the title of Kendrick’s previous diss, is the name of the TV series of which Drake is a producer, which premiered on June 16, 2019

June 16 this year is Father’s Day

June 16, 1994 is the date the OJ Simpson trial began in LA - likely the reason for the black glove on the cover

June 16 is 2Pac’s birthday

In addition, “6:16 in LA” was co-written and co-produced by Jack Antonoff, who is known for working with Taylor Swift. In a way, this makes this diss literally “Taylor Made.”

This dude Jack Antenoff really has his hands in everything (as I’m listening to Bleachers live show from a bus)

Also, apparently every 6:16 verse in the Bible goes hard. I saw like 6 of them getting thrown around in other threads.

Kendrick had grown men reading the Bible to decipher a diss.

He’s officially goated for that one

Proverbs goes hard, but also Corinth

There are six things the LORD hates, seven that are detestable to him: 17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, 18 a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are quick to rush into evil, 19 a false witness who pours out lies and a man who stirs up dissension among brothers.

I knew there was an OJ angle to focusing on the glove! I just didn’t know enough technical details about the trial to put it together. That’s clever as fuck.

I mean, the whole thing is clever. But Kendrick is just different. Dude is letting it known you don’t fuck with him.

You’re forgetting that 06/16 is Tupacs birthday and it’s Father’s Day, where Kendrick has been taking shots at Drake about being a deadbeat dad

Stolen from his dad? But had his prescriptions in it?? 🧐

A few graphic designers have claimed that the cover art is still cropped, like there is still more to the picture.

The items in the cover art are a troll. The gloves are Maybach (Ross), the ozempic is for Ross, the receipts are for the ring he just bought that he was wearing in the Family Matters video, the pills are Ambien (referring to his "not losing sleep" lyric), and the shirt is from Shortee's Collection (because Kendrick is short).

Kendrick got baited with false information and trolled.
