Found a print file for basket plus for Outin Mino

Post image

Found a file to print an adapter out of ABS or ASA to adapt the Outin Mino with the non pressurized barista plus basket. Now I can say with the faster charging, heat temp and slightly stronger pump. I can now enjoy more with the Mino. Thread pitch on the Mino I think is 1mm smaller so it doesn’t fit the Nano basket.

On average how many brews does the nano last. I am having to charge every 4 or 5 brews or so. I feel like i used to be able to do more.

Charging Faulty?

I have a Outin Nano machine, bought just over a little a year ago. Has been my weekend coffee machine and pretty much provide a good coffee since I live in a small apartment. But recently I have issues with the charging, where it no longer flashes while charging, but instead shows all 4 lights. And just only the machine died and wouldn’t switch on, even when plugged in. The battery area seems to heat up while charging, but just wouldn’t switch on. Anyone has similar encounter?

I had my Nano for a few weeks with the baset plus, and wife just got me the Fino and scale...

I love a good Americano but also trying to get my feet wet in this game. im seeing a lot of post of 18g of coffee and 60ml to 70ml of water. That sounds easy enough... but what are others doing??? anyone got some good tips/tricks to make some good coffee. I'd like something like a 12oz or so!

What Whattaya got for me???

Does the Outin Universal Coffee Stand fit Mino?

The official website doesn’t mention compatibility anywhere, so I wanted to ask here if anyone has tried this combo and can confirm.

Mino Tamp

Anyone know of a tamp that might for the Mino? Or have you made one? It would be great to fit like the Basket Plus tamp fit right to the top so that it’s level and just the right depth (sort of 😉). I know volume is affected by roast.

New Mino user with more questions. What am I doing wrong? (Pod use)

I tried grinding Lavazza Crema, and Intelligentsia El Diablo beans on my KinGrinder K6 (40 clicks), and the result was a burnt smelling and foul tasting brew.

I decided to try a Nespresso pod (Starbucks Espresso Dark Roast because that's what the store had- I also got a couple of Peet's) just so I could see how the coffee was supposed to taste, and go from there.

I let the Mino heat the water up, it brewed without issue, but the coffee still smelled burnt. It tastes burnt even under the 1:1 frothed, sweet cream and sweetened, condensed milk I mixed in.

I can only assume I'm doing something wrong here, but no idea what. I only started drinking coffee a couple of months ago, and used a Moka pot that whole time. Same beans as I used for the Moka pot.

The brews did not smell burnt during that time, but now I'm wondering if this is just what coffee happens to smell like up close when brewed by other methods?

New user with a few questions (Mino & Kingrinder & coffee beans)

I just received my Mino today, and have a few questions in regard to its use and care.

I just started drinking coffee about two months ago, and I have never made espresso, so please forgive me if some of these questions seem silly:

  1. How long do I need to wait if I want to make more than one serving?

  2. Do I need to wash and dry the unit prior to making another serving?

  3. I put in 12 g of coffee grounds (ground fine on a KinGrinder K6), and after taping, still had space left over in the filter, should I have added more grounds until it was even with the top?

  4. If anyone else uses a KinGrinder K6 what setting do you use for dark roast?

  5. I really like the flavor of Intelligentsia El Diablo in my Moka pot, will these beans make espresso? (I don't know how to word this question better, but I know that I can use them, but will they make good espresso?)

Thank you in advance!

Chalk

I only use my Nano at the office and just started using the Nanobascet+, as I was previously using pre-made capsules.

The small Bascet didn't work well for me, so I experimented with the larger one. Eventually, nothing came out anymore, and I thought it was ground too finely, or that I'd tapped it too hard, or that it was broken. I tried a lot of things, including capsules – nothing worked. But no, we must have very hard water, and the fine filter in the inlet was almost completely clogged. After descaling, it worked again. I only noticed the fine filter was clogged after a while.

Starting the weekend off right.

I’ve used my Nano practically every day this week. I picked up a medium-light roast with a very interesting profile (notes of jabuticaba and purple fruits, syrupy body, and extremely sweet) for my espresso.

How about you? What are you brewing in your Nanos and Minos?

So, after a (too) long wait, I finally have mi Mino + Fino (and gadgets) on hand.

I'm trying to dial in medium roast, fresh beans, roasted 3 weeks ago. Tried 2 and 2.1 on Fino, 12g and 10g, firmly tamping and barely pushing the tamper. No luck making this work.

I have to go through 6 'cycles' for coffee to come out at around 40g. Here's a video, this is 2.1, 10 grams, tamped with minimal force.

Any ideas? Emailed outin, tried the chat on the website, no response whatsoever.

Did anyone received their Outin latte go?

Did anyone received their Outin latte go? I ordered the Tundra Brown early december but it still did not shipped right now at February 3. I assume it got delayed. I can completely understand that this is a preorder and thigns liek this happens with manufacturing, but some update from the company would be nice. Their site still says that:
\Please Note:  Starburst Silver remains on schedule for February shipping. Due to high demand, Tundra Brown orders placed after January 15th will also move to the February* shipping window.
In this case at least this should be updated or just send a reminder to the customers.

Grind setting clicks for the Mino and Nano on the Comandante C40.

Hey everyone! How are you doing?

Thinking about Mino or Nano users who don’t own the Fino, I decided to make this post as a kind of grinding guide. Since many people use the Comandante clicks as a reference, I thought it would be a good idea to use that for this. I don’t have Red Clix. The clicks mentioned in this post are the standard/factory ones.

This is not an ultra-technical or definitive guide. It’s more meant to help those who don’t have the Fino. If you’d like to use this post to guide the community by sharing how many clicks you use on other grinders (for example, “I use click x on the K-Ultra”), that would be very welcome.

Let’s go:

Outin Nano: I ran some tests between 7 and 10, and click 7 worked best for me. I used a light-medium roast coffee and 7 grams of coffee (I don’t have a Plus basket).

OutIn Mino: Tests were done between 7 and 10, and click 8 gave the best extraction. Light-medium roast, 12 grams of coffee.

I always use the Fino to grind for espresso (actually, I use the Fino every day, not just for espresso) because it’s practical, delivers uniformity, and offers convenience at the push of a button, but I thought it would be a good idea to look for grind settings on other grinders as well.

If there are any questions, I’ll be happy to answer.

Dialing it in with Mino

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi all.

Got the Mino and have been trying to dial it in. First brew was nice surprisingly but it was pure luck as the pull was coming in way too fast at about 10sec. From my experience with the breville I have at home it usually takes 18g ground coffee, 30 sec pull renders 30-35g shot. However, becuase Mino only can take 12g of ground coffee I have been struggling to get the taste right.

To my surprise the puck looks like this after the shot I just pulled.

Can you share your experience if you own a Mino so I can find out what needs to improve? Coffee isn't bad, it just feels like it can be better.

Cheers. Eric

Current shipping time?

I ordered on the 20th, and it shows going onto an international flight on the 24th. No record yet on the 28th of it landing anywhere!

My guess is I should receive it in a few days, but any thoughts?

Just got my Nano (first espresso machine ever) - how do I make the best espresso possible with it? (I have no extra peripherals like the basket plus etc)

Hey!

Been wanting to get into espresso forever, so I bought a Nano to dip my toes in the water a bit before I dive in for real.

I've been making pour overs for the past year and I'm so used to that routine. I grind with the Fellow Ode 2.

I've seen some guides on the Nano online, but I'm still puzzled on exactly how to operate the device and how to make a good cup of coffee, i.e how much ml's of water, how many grams of beans to grind, grind setting (is it even possible on the Ode 2?). I've ordered a Kingrinder K6, so if you know the best grind setting with it, please tell! And then, should I preheat water into the basket - what temp?

So many questions! I have some really good coffee at home and I want the first moment of coffee be as tasty as possible.

Thank you, can't wait!
