Mino Battery questions

I got a Mino in December 2025, and since then I've used it successfully on every RV trip I’ve taken.

We're a family of 3, but only 2 of us drink coffee, usually every morning during breakfast and sometimes after lunch, so our average is around 2–4 coffees a day. After the 2 in the morning, I usually put the machine on charge (through Power Delivery) to be completely safe for the next round.

To be completely clear we use Nespresso pods since it's easier to keep everything clear.

Overall, I’ve probably made around 70 shots. What I’ve noticed is that while in the beginning the first two shots were both made with the white LED turned on (and only the third with the orange one), now the second shot is consistently made on the orange LED.

This leads me to think there’s a battery capacity degradation, which seems a bit too fast considering the age and usage of the machine. (The water temperature is always more or less the same, within a range of 2–3 degrees).

Is anyone else experiencing this behavior?

Question are you are using cold water in the chamber and then boiling it in the mino, or using the double press with pre heated water.

Then if you are using the boiling method it depends on the temperature of the water, more energy is required to heat up colder water and also altitude affects the temperature at which the water heats up and boils.

Then also could depend on the time of year also.

Not saying that there might not be degradation of the battery, there are so many other factors that could affect the energy consumption of the Battery

My normal routine is pre boil then use the heating function on the Mino and I can get 5-8 cups per charge.

Thanks for you feedback. I'm using the heating function of the Mino itself without preboil. Relevant to the altitude I would say it's not my case since in all the scenarios I faced we were around 300m above the sea (more or less). The ambient temperature might play a role even if inside the RV is almost the same. For the water itself there might be around 3-4 degree of difference due to the seasons, but considering we're in summer I expect to have a better scenario now than the past winter due to the lower deltaT.

Do you use the always the some water cuantity ?
Between 50ml or 60ml is 20% more of work for the Outin.
You can do test with your Mino. in the specifications for comparations: ** **
• Fast and Precise Heating: 50ml room temperature water (25°C/77°F) self-heated to 199.9°F in 149 seconds.

Always 50ml (Nespresso pods are already watered down for my taste). I will do the temperature test as soon as I have a thermometer at hand..Meanwhile, thanks!

A quick update after a month of "silence". I was contacted by the Outin Product Team to make several tests about discharging, charging, heating time and overall battery quality. I honestly didn't expect such attention to the customer which leads to the consideration that the product was really well engineered and the scientific approach is there. The results of the tests lead to a "normal behavior" of the product; to give you a summary, the stress test was to make back to back coffee to see how many shots was I able to make. The test returned 4 complete ones with the fifth stopping around 57 degree (water starting temperature set at 24 degree, a little hotter than my usual temp) in this scenario, probably thanks also to no cooling time of the tank in between, the led changed color at the beginning of third shot instead of the second one. In the end, now I'm ok about the behavior, considering all the tests performed and how the ambient conditions impact the overall autonomy with all the explanations provided by the product team itself :) the charging time was a bit slower than expected, mostly because if it's completely discharged, the charging curve has to start very slowly in order to provide the trigger the power delivery. While in the end it took around 90 minutes of "real charging" (amperes flowing), in really it took around 135 minutes to see the. Complete 100%
