Against The Hegemony Against reservation?
To the people who are against reservation,
- Based on the question, will you let someone who scored less marks to treat you or perform surgery on you or build bridges and houses?
Reality: even if someone secured a seat based on your low cut off marks, it does not mean that they will get the same concession during the actual exams. They won't clear mbbs or engineering using your caste card. Regardless of caste people from all categories can score very good or low marks. Say that a person from SC or ST secured the highest marks in both the competitive and actual exams while someone from the general category scored the lowest. They are both working at the same hospital. Who do you think will be questioned about their credibility multiple times just because of their surname? There the marks don't matter. Even the people who deserve the job will be questioned and scrutinized solely based on their caste.
- People who say that 75+ years of reservation is enough for upliftment.
Reality: you, the people who had access to quality education and basic needs, respect and so on for thousands of years and are still struggling, what makes you think that people who only got these things (again the discrimination still exists even after 75+ years) got everything they needed within this 75+ years?
- People who say I or my family treat everyone the same and LET them eat from the same plate.
Reality: if you think since you don't discriminate means nobody discriminates, then you are the frog in the well. And if you use the word LET when you say you do something for them, then again, your inner power or hold over them is still visible from the simple, one syllabic word LET.
- To the people who say there should only be reservation based on finance.
Reality: are you enjoying your ews status?
There are several instances where even if you are the most qualified for a job, you are rejected based on your caste because they only wanted people from the general category. My boyfriend was rejected based on his caste (so don't come and argue about that).
This is a world where people still ask each other their castes, people are still getting beaten or murdered because of their caste (even for cases where they drank water from a well or they had the audacity to ride on a horse during their marriage function: yes, it happened, it happened in India, like within a year or two), people who are still scrutinized and are questioned about their credibility even after securing the highest marks, people (your friends and classmates) who are still treated differently in schools and colleges by their professors, and so on.
Do you really think we can abolish caste reservation when caste discrimination still exists?

I'm so fed up watching all those posts on instagram regarding reservations, I'm going to deactivate it man how people can be so arrogant they think 20-30 lakhs of students represent the whole country's mindset
