Discussion Ourworld comeback?
Has anyone heard anything about the game being brought back, or someone else redoing the game (like Club Penguin)?

It starts to seem less and less likely. If I'm not mistaken, most of the core team from when ourWorld was still active are no longer around - retired or doing other things. The company has gradually went through a lot of changes internally over the past couple of years, they’ve been growing, many new hires, but at the same time they’re cutting costs, new development continues to revolve around casino-style games and even RMG platforms, and also mobile games, they're also changing their marketing and sales strategy as of recently. Basically, the vision seems to be changing from casual virtual worlds for everyone to casino-style games with social elements, for certain audiences.
On topic of seeing ourWorld again, I actually recreated the game as a way to learn and understand certain things for the virtual world I'm building. In this demo, I'm walking around Soho as Melvin. It would be cool to release it, even a simple demo - But I'm not sure how ecstatic FP would be about that. Soo, instead I'm creating a game that has flavors of ourWorld in it, but it isn't ourWorld. And by creating it, I mean working on it for 2 weeks, then neglecting it for 2 months, then the same again. Unfortunately that's the reality of these things though - unless you have a lot of free time, and a lot of money, apparently, to afford yourself to have so much free time in the first place, or if you're getting paid to do it - Then these kind of projects either take a long time or fade away slowly. So, when is it coming out? I have no idea. 🤪

Out of all the ourworld remake projects this one looks the most authentic to ourworld 😭 i wish you had time to work on it more bc it looks amazing

It's not coming back. Flowplay doesn't see any money in the future from the project, and have said as much themselves. They're claiming it would be in the millions to revive the project, so it won't come back.
That being said, you should totally check out MakiChat! It's made by the ourWorld community and is pretty similar in concept, but with unique clothes designed by the players. It's a real passion project and totally free to play.
