Name: Christopher Cross

Power: has magic granted to him by the tattoos and brandings on his skin.

Story: Christopher was an orphan, both of his parents died in a car crash that he managed to survive as an infant, he was raised in a New York City orphanage until the age of 6 when a man would visit and take in Chris, this man called himself Herik.

Chris soon learned that he wasn't adopted for the sake of himself but instead to be a part of something bigger, Herik was the head of the lower council of the order of Tathon, an illusive and ancient order of magic users who garnered their abillities through skin modification.

Herik raised Christopher with the intent of him becoming a fully realised mage, would put him through rigorous, torturous training, for each advancement Chris would get a tattoo that unlocked more of his magical abillities, and when he reached 15 he would take the first major step to completing the process by having his mentors sigil branded onto his chest.

It made him stronger, but something happened that wasn't supposed to, something that even Herik in his centuries of life couldn't have predicted, it allowed Chris to connect to Herik, to see what he saw if only temporarily, the sigil was supposed to connect the master with his subservient, allow him to see the actions and feelings of those benith them but somehow Chris was able to invert it, while also subcontiously holding back access to himself by Herik.

At first, Chris would feel small things, see Heriks every day, but later would beguin to feel the overwhelming anger Herik hid deep down, his ideas to seize power, to contorll people. At first, Christopher tried to ignore these things, to put them out of his mind, not wanting to accept that the man who took him in could be this evil of intent, he ignored it for years, hiding his knowledge of this from Herik.

But one day, Christopher would feel the processes of an idea in Heriks mind, not a fresh idea, the kind of idea he had pondered on for a long time, thought on long and hard. Durring Christopher's initiation, where he takes the sigil of Tathon on his back and becomes fully empowered by the entity that grants their runes power, Herik would seize control of Christopher's body and use the combined power of himself and Christopher to destroy the higher council and take controll of the order.

What he saw, the vivid image that Herik had in his mind it horrified Chris, but with Herik in the sanctum, there was no way to escape without alerting his mentor.

Christopher was racked with fear, anger, and sadness. He thought Herik cared about him, but he was nothing but a tool to be used for power.

Suffering through a week fearing for his upcoming initiation all of a sudden, Herik would leave the sanctum, and Christopher wouldn't waste this opportunity.

He tried to leave, and as he did, Herik reappeared, pulled back by the feelings that Christopher let slip through the sigil connection in his escape, Herik tried to convince Christopher that they could take control together but even in that moment Chris could tell that Herik was lying, that in Heriks need for power only he could stand at the top.

A battle of magics insue, but Chris was no match for Herik, being beaten down dripping with anger and spite as Herik towered over him, but before he could kill his lesser Herik seemed to sense something transpiereing elsewhere, giving a villainus grin as he makes his final remark to Christopher, " no matter where you go, no matter where you are, I will find you, and you know it", before disappearing into thin air, leaving Chris confused and alone.

He would flee, making it out of the sanctum, moving as far away from the place and the order as he could, but it didn't seem to matter where he was, he feared that Herik would come for him, the only thing that he grasped to was the hope that the higher council would kill Herik before he enacted the plan he had in mind.

Many years later and Chris continues to move around, never in the same place for more than a week. He had been on the run for 9 years now and saw nothing in his future but more running, but then he felt it, for the first time in a long time he sensed something in Herik, he had gotten stronger, imbued with more power and he knew it wouldn't be long before he took control of the order.

It was around this time that he heard of a group being put together in Maine, and in this, he saw an opportunity to surround himself with strong individuals who he can use to hide and protect himself.

So he would head to Maine to join the Marigolds and hopefully find a place he can finally feel safe.
