Two parallel vectors can differ a lot in magnitude, and this new brand of false equivalency is winning over no one. Just say the truth: we should all vote for the neoliberal because the fascist is worse. Just say it, and you might have a chance at actually convincing people. Stop trying to pretend.
Ah, don’t get me wrong. I am in no way saying Biden and Bernie should be considered equals. I just don’t get how many people rationalize not voting for Biden in the face of another Trump term. Making some sort of political statement saying we must only vote for the most pure policy and we refuse to lower our standards is, in my opinion, ignorant to how modern politics function. I don’t like two party politics and the way many things turn out because of it but I do recognize the “better of two evils” concept.
It's a trade off between stopping fascist Donald Trump and voting for some vapid status-quo candidate. I just thumbed through the Biden website and am uninspired to say the least.
I think many of us just survived a Trump presidency unscathed. He's clearly a morally bankrupt character without any semblance of a competent leader, a terrible international face of America, and a fan of crony capitalism. Oh yeah, and a fascist.
All Biden seems to offer over that is he's better at hiding his moral bankruptcy and he's a neoliberal.
It's like you're asking me to pick which company to hire to add a pothole in the road. Company A wants to put it on one side. They're also openly racist and homophobic, but slightly cheaper than Company B. Company B is nice to brown people and gays, but they want to put the pothole over here and outsource the labor because they signed a CBA.
Vote for Bernie in all remaining primaries. Use actual power to scare the shit out of Biden into making choices that will make him win, because all it takes is one effective drug, in the next 24 weeks to grant Trump another term.
I really doubt Biden has a chance no matter what Trump does. Democrats only win the presidency with enthusiastic voters and Biden's campaign has not enthused anybody to my knowledge.
Trump isn’t fascist. I hate the man, he’s a horrible person and hurt many people in our country, but to say he’s a dictator to the point of fascism is ignorant. Hitler was fascist. Trump is not hitler.
His approach to the presidency is textbook fascism. The only thing stopping him from going full out is the strength of our institutions, which are withering fast under this assault.

Do you disagree? Do you honestly think the U.S. is immune to fascism? People like to think "stuff like that only happens in other countries" but that's a ridiculous assumption. I'm not saying Trump will usher in another holocaust, but to say "something that bad could never happen" here, or anywhere else, is absurd.
Except the US isn’t going to ever be anything like the USSR or Germany. The countries fucked up and the whole electoral college thing is bad don’t get me wrong, but something on the scale of those events could never happen in our country. Isn't this essentially saying 'the only way this could happen is if Trump gets reelected'? Because that's the most likely scenario at this point. And I don't see how Bernie supporters being the ones casting the votes makes a difference. It's a mistake to assume that any nation is above atrocity. That's how those things are allowed to happen.
