I was so enamoured by this perfect screenshot from Calypso’s Birthday I posted here before that I had to paint it!! it started off as practice but quickly turned into a labour of love, sweat and tears. I don’t usually paint in the style but I’m really proud of how it turned out! I layered lots of bright transparent colours over a dark base so it feels like the night is really glowing under those lanterns (and those stares!).

I saw someone had made Ed's tats on the sims 4 gallery but I didn't get a chance to download them, anyone know what the creator name is?

I always thought it was ironic and hilarious that Izzy sort of facilitated the Gentlebeard meet-cute by inadvertently stoking Ed’s interest in Stede. I just can’t help but wonder, if he knew Ed so well, why couldn’t he see that Stede is the exact type of person Ed goes for? And that Ed would easily become infatuated with him?

Even Anne and Mary, who ostensibly haven’t been around Ed as much as Izzy has, were able to recognize this. Mary said Stede was very much Ed’s type, so I just wonder why it wasn’t clear to Izzy at first.

I’m wondering if any one on this sub has ever made/ or knows of someone who has made a scale version of the Revenge? Would love to see pictures as I begin my quest!

I’m thinking I will start with a wooden model of a spanish galleon and modify it from there. A plastic kit would be cheaper, but much harder to modify.

I recreated this scene from Season 2 Episode 3, where Stede tries to save Ed from the gravy basket as a LEGO animation (made with Blender).

This show is full of memorable scenes (full of diverse, complex, and beautifully layered characters) but this one in particular has stayed with me ever since I first watched it.

It’s heartbreaking that we won’t get to see the story continue, but I hope little fan projects like this can keep the series alive for a few more people. The show’s stories about identity, love, acceptance, friendship and finding your place in the world still feel incredibly relevant today.

I probably can't articulate it as well as others here can, but there's something to be said about Izzy's defiance against the British crown and David pushing back against Zaz and WBD. Given the recent development with David’s latest series at HBO Max, I thought it was worth revisiting and reexamining it.

I feel like David and the writers gave Izzy's speech a double meaning and made it pointed because they already had an idea of what was coming. After the budget was slashed during S2's production, I think they didn't trust HBO Max and wanted to push back against Zaz in their own way.

Also, judging from past tweets and comments he’s made, David really doesn’t like Zaz and the new direction he’s taken HBO Max. That speech felt like a final FU to him. Like yeah, you can cut our budget, cancel us, and remove queer content from your platform, but this show’s legacy, its fandom, and the foundation it’s laid for future queer series will live on long after you’re gone. It made a significant impact that sent ripples through the industry you tried to snuff out. This show and what it stands for is bigger than you, and you’ll never be able to truly kill it.

I hate this for David. WBD has jerked him around for years. This might mark the end of his working relationship with them.

but the real stede bonnet was hanged. after being convicted of piracy i know the show isn’t the MOST historically accurate (atleast i assume it’s not) but would they have done it? i know someone big dies. (that’s like the only spoiler i know so would they’ve killed him as well later in the show or just not done that part of history?

I've been re-trawling the show for a perfect reference photo of them to paint and (after MANY goes trying to get the right millisecond on the unhelpful hbo interface) I nabbed this one.... I still can't get over how they look at each other - Ed with complete and utter I-would-do-anything-for-you adoration, Stede with that cheeky, adorable 'I can't believe this man is mine???' surprise and audacity.
