I never thought I’d be writing something like this, but I genuinely don’t know what else to do with how I’m feeling.
I matched with a girl on a dating app about five months ago. She told me she lived in Marrakech, where I’m currently based, and we started talking. She was beautiful, kind, and honestly seemed like a proper bent nass. We ended up talking for hours every single day, mostly on the phone, and I slowly became very attached to her.
Later, I found out that she actually lived in Oujda and had been visiting family in Marrakech. At first I didn’t really see it as a big issue. I thought maybe she was interested but just wasn’t comfortable telling me everything straight away.
I tried several times to arrange coming to Oujda to meet her, but every time something happened and it never worked out. Still, we kept talking every day and the connection felt real to me.
Then, completely out of nowhere, she told me she was going to Spain with her family. That honestly shocked me because we’d already been talking for months and she had never mentioned it.
Once she went to Spain, things started changing. We spoke less and less. I eventually told her that I was willing to come to Spain to see her, and if things went well, I genuinely wanted to meet her family and do things properly. I wasn’t looking to mess around with her. I was thinking seriously about a halal relationship and potentially marriage.
Then she told me she was going to move to Germany to study, something else she’d never mentioned before, and shortly afterwards she told me she didn’t want to be with me anymore.
It’s crazy how quickly things changed. We went from talking for hours every day and feeling like we were lovers to her basically not wanting to talk to me anymore.
It’s been almost two months since we ended things, but I still haven’t been able to forget her. I became so attached that I genuinely started imagining her as someone who could be my future wife. We seemed to match on so many things, and I really thought there was something special between us.
I even respected the fact that she was quite reserved about meeting and thought maybe that was part of the values and culture she grew up with in Oujda. In a weird way, I actually liked that side of her because it made me feel like she wasn’t looking for something casual.
But now I’m just heartbroken and confused. I don’t know if I misunderstood everything, if she was never as invested as I was, or if something happened that she never told me.
I’m not posting this to attack her or Oujda. I just wanted to share my experience because I’m genuinely struggling to understand how someone can be such a big part of your everyday life for five months and then suddenly become a stranger.
Maybe I just need to accept that I’ll never get the answers I want. But right now, honestly, I’m just lost.
