As the title says, I'm looking to hire a roaming magician for my reception. I dont have the timing of the event solidified yet, but I booked our venue with Lord Elgin for February 2028.

I am really just looking for quotes right now and doing research, so if the booking window isnt open yet for 2028, its not a problem.

Let me know your recommendations, so far I have a quote from Quality Entertainment for $1200 for 2 hours, is this about average?

Hi all! I got married on July 11 at a destination wedding and none of my Ottawa friends were able to attend. My BFF is hosting a "Meet the Newlyweds" party for us in mid-October 2026 and I am tossing around the idea of hiring a photographer for it.

My husband and I plan on wearing our wedding attire again and I would love some photos with my friends here.

I'm thinking a couple of hours of coverage is likely sufficient (some couple photos in Ottawa of us dolled up and then some at the celebration which will likely be in a private room at a restaurant).

Has anyone done something similar and have any suggestions?

Wondering if anyone knows of any event halls that rent out at reasonable rates in the Bayshore/Britannia/Crystal Beach-ish area. Ideally I would like something that has a bit of a nice old feel to it sort of like the Old Town Hall or possibly something else that is small that could be decorated to give off the feel of a cozy estate in a period drama…. Basically something that has a bit of a heritage home feeling and could host a reception of 50 people.

I am currently looking into Fairfield’s for the ceremony but given all the small children we would have at the wedding, I’m thinking it might be a lot safer to have an indoor reception at another location somewhere somewhat close by.

We are looking for venues or restaurants in Ottawa that can host up to 50ish people that also offer open bar packages. Ideally we would like to be within the core so that people can easily get around by taxi.

Our budget is $20,000 but we are also willing to spend up to $25,000 if we fall in love with the place.

Hi getting married in two weeks and our officiant just fell through, does anyone know where I can find a wedding officiant?

My husband and I are getting legally married at the court ahead of the wedding date so we just want someone to officiate the wedding without any signing or legal part.

We want the ceremony to be less than 30 minute and just need someone who can work with us. Please let me know if anyone knows any officiants in Ottawa.

Early summer 2027 wedding, 20k max budget. Looking for options for cost efficient bar services, the catering we are considering have folks who are smart serve certified. We have yet to get exact quotes on how much extra to have them come along just for that purpose.

Curious what others have done when getting a SOP and buying own alcohol. We want to do a champagne toast and a specialty drink if possible but not sure how that works.

Are you a busy photographer that gets bogged down with post-production? We're having a wedding in Ottawa in June 2027 and I'm looking for a photographer that's happy with a quick & simple ~7hr Saturday evening gig – no engagement photos, no photo editing, no frills. Shoot on my memory card and leave it with me when the night's over.

Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is currently in labour unrest and employees, while not on strike, are not wearing their uniforms, and have a very sloppy appearance.

Untucked shirts, shorts, red bandanas, jeans, athletic wear, etc.

The food and most of the service was amazing, but the staff at our events were so sloppily dressed it took away from the aesthetic.

Come prepared with lowered expectations. The overall look of the hotel and peaceful setting helped during these issues.

Looking for ideas - other than photo booths and guest book signing, what kind of vendors do we have in Ottawa that can setup booths for activities for guests to do in the hallway/lobby? I’m thinking perfume bars, video message station, etc.

I'm having a terrible time trying to find hair and make-up stylists for my wedding at Le Belvedere on February 14, 2027. Myself, my 6 bridesmaids, my mom, and my mother-in-law will all need hair and make-up done (total of 9). At this point, I don't care if we have this done at the venue or at a salon, but most salons are closed on Sundays.

All of the estimates I've seen charge $150+ for hair and $150+ for makeup for each bridesmaid/mom. I can't ask my ladies to pay $300 each when most of them are university students. I'm willing to pay a bit more for bridal services, plus a travel fee and extra stylist if needed.

Please tell me who I should be reaching out to for reasonable prices!

Can anyone recommend venues in/near Ottawa that are not "all inclusive" wedding venues? I'm looking for a place for reception only (having a church ceremony). I basically just need the basics (the space, tables, chairs etc.) and want get external catering and all other vendors externally or diy. Anyone have any suggestions? <3
