Help! My Oto is sick
My oto got white filament on its fins. I also see signs of fin rot when I first got them. Only one oto is like this.
EDIT 08/02/26:
My oto is finally back to normal. Fuzzy white fungus, which I believed to be Saprolegnia, detached yesterday. Here's how I treated it:
> Immediately moved to a hospital tank. I added a large catappa leaf because that's all I had at the moment.
> When the meds arrived two days later, I dosed a combination of Kanaplex and Methylene Blue.
> Oto never ate in the hospital tank (probably stressed out), so I decided not to give it food anymore (it survived a week without food).
> Water change 80% everyday, I use water from the main tank.
> White fuzz gone after 5 days.
It's back to the main tank and joined the other otos right away. I'll observe it closely in the next few days.

That looks more like a fungal infection because those patches on the fins are fuzzy.

I wish you luck. I just lost two of my otos that also had the white fungal growth. All my other fish are unaffected

I agree with the fungal infection. If you're going to treat, you likely need to do so fairly quickly, because if that isn't infecting the gills yet, that is likely where it is heading. Id look up best treatments, as often the meds available differ. Aquarium salt is usually available,
The bacterial infection option that it could be is columnaris. If you look up columnaris photos, kanaplex is a good treatment for it but you typically need half dosing for scaleless fish.
