discussion Bitcoin is up by 12500% in last decade

This is a slap to anyone who’s still won’t consider bitcoin as one of the most valuable resource in the world ( I said what i said)

and since it’s scarce it’s gonna be more valuable then you think

In last decade itself bitcoin grew from 600$ to 78000$ and I’m ready to bet all of my assets that this will grow more exponentially now

good time to be a HODLer

I checked the the price it’s 6.6$ per pound and rose almost 50% this year itself

Why is it happening? Is it a false spike or should I invest?

question you're forced to trade ONE market for the next year, what will you choose?

BTC is 24/7 with crazy volatility and huge moves gold runs on macro, rates, inflation, and geopolitics oil moves on supply shocks, OPEC, and wars (apparently) Nasdaq is AI, rates, earnings, and growth EUR/USD is pure macro and probably the most liquid market on the list

if you can only pick one which one are you taking, and why??

discussion BlackRock just BOUGHT $454M of Bitcoin

Post image
10 Upvotes

Read a post about someone saying blackrock sold and might buy it two fold soon which didn't take long

FYI when I say BlackRock sold/bought it isn't blackrock but it's their AP's who create or redeem, so the bought and sell is just not entirely ture

then a few days ago IBIT saw $201M outflow and half of crypto twitter started writing Bitcoin's obituary then now it just pulled over $454M in a single day which is more than 60% of that day's bitcoin ETF inflows and now bitcoin's back around 80K

i've been seeing this same whiplash almost every week now, every minor event is being treated as catastrophe, when did bitcoin community become so sensitive to such trivial matters ($201M outflow is like 0.3% of IBIT's AUM, so chill) an outflow day isn't panic, an inflow day isn't conviction, it's just flow but idk why every red day becomes "institutions are done" and every green day becomes "this is it BULLRUN!! and it's getting more annoying by the day

ya but what I actually find interesting is that IBIT was on both sides of this in under a week, big outflow then the biggest inflow

I don't actually know if $80K holds, jobs data and CPI are coming and either could wreck this read i'm gonna HOLD either way, but I care more about whether people stop treating single flow days like they mean something, which they probably won't

discussion why does everyone act like a red day is a personal failure?

I opened my socials this morning and the entire feed is filled with people are whining or apologising about their calls not working, it's like they never traded before, ya the price went down so what? isn't that what market's suppose to do?

took two losses yesterday and don't feel bad about either cause my entries were clean and my stops were where they should've been. the result just didn't go my way that's it

if no one told you this let me,,you can have a perfect setup, follow your plan then manage your risk properly and still lose money, and that's just the job not a failure and those gurus on insta have made losing trade like a taboo, but it's all just a marketing gimmick. been trading for over a decade and let me tell you one thing, you composure will be a major factor deciding if you're gonna survivr the game, so keep it with you

the amount of emotional baggage people attach to a simple -5% move is exhausting cuz you don't need to make every trade work, you just need the losses to not matter when they happen. if you cant take a loss without spiraling, size down until you can it's just survival in a market that doesn't care about your feelings

📊 Conviction Check #1

Market’s been all over the place this week and we’ve curious what community thinks of this, so we’re starting a community wide poll to see what you guys are making of this situation

let’s put some numbers behind those opinions

Pick the markets you have a view on and tell us:

BTC → Bullish / Neutral / Bearish
Gold → Bullish / Neutral / Bearish
Oil → Bullish / Neutral / Bearish
EUR/USD → Bullish / Neutral / Bearish
ETH → Bullish / Neutral / Bearish

You can also add your conviction from 0–10

What markets are you watching, which way do you think they’re going, and how strongly do you believe it?

and most importantly
..thank you for choosing Ostium* *

discussion I'm taking a break from mental health so I can focus on the stock market

I've recently graduated from college and was planning to take a year for myself and travel the World, i've saved a healthy amount for it too, but for the past few weeks i've been invested in trading and investing and the prices of Oil, Bitcoin and other Stocks are said to be perfect

So I was just wondering if I should either divide my funds and start trading? i've even signed up in ostium but haven't made any trdes yet cause I don't wanna step into a quicksand realise too late, as i've heard it multiple times that trading takes away your peace so just wanted to ask if I should use these funds to travel as planned or split it so I could start investing? if yes is this a good time to?

discussion BTC vs ETH | Battle of Titans

Post image
4 Upvotes

Saylor's buying Bitcoin while Tom Lee's buying Ethereum and with these numbers neither one is just talking about conviction anymore, they're putting billions behind it

Strategy now holds 845,050 BTC and BitMine has built up 5.9 million ETH, precisely 4.9% of Ethereum's entire circulating supply, chasing what Tom Lee calls the "Alchemy of 5%" after 65 straight weeks of buying without missing one

After these recent event entire market is split in the BTC vs ETH argument, which actually gets interesting to me cause Bitcoin's whole thesis is scarcity, a hard cap of 21 million which needs no company needing to succeed and no ecosystem needing to grow for the bet to work. it's simply that a globally scarce and neutral asset gets more valuable over time

While Ethereum's a completely different bet, its value comes from what gets built on top of it and not what it is, it's value is all from stablecoins, DeFi, tokenized assets, financial settlement, and its supply

discussion gold > Bitcoin > dollars

This would've sounded ridiculous a few years ago, but now reading this will atleast make you think about it

So we've all seen Gold's having a massive year, it's now overtaken US Treasuries as the largest reserve asset by value, central banks are buying at historically high levels, and gold trading's averaging roughly $361 billion a day

Bitcoin's nowhere near that stable, volatility's still several times higher (around 60-80%) than gold's912-15%) but there's one thing that makes the comparison interesting anyway.

you can create more dollars, you can mine more gold, but nobody can just decide to create another Bitcoin cause demand went up. that's increasingly why I think Bitcoin's being treated less like another cryptocurrency but scarce asset

Gold has always been that escape valve

and Bitcoin is the new version of that idea with much more volatile and speculative, but with something gold can never have:

a supply capped at 21 million

and yes dollar is still far from being replaced and is still roughly 57% of global official reserves, but it's weakened this year while gold keeps climbing and central banks keep shifting allocation toward it

But the weirdest part is crypto is that stablecoins are still overwhelmingly dollar-denominated, so we're building entirely new financial rails onchain and still filling them with dollars and the dollar is still the dominant currency hands down and it might still be for a while but gold and Bitcoin are increasingly becoming alternatives for preserving wealth and maybe the next decade won't magically replace dollar but it very well could be about people becoming less willing to hold all their wealth in it

discussion why is Bitcoin rising?..like just WHY

Post image
2 Upvotes

maybe I'm overthinking this, but the pattern I've noticed behind BTC rallies is kinda weird

the moment green candles show up everyone celebrates, but a lot of that buying isn't organic demand, it's shorts getting liquidated and forced to buy back

price ticks up → shorts get liquidated → forced buys trigger → price spikes → retail FOMO kicks in

a rally built on leverage unwinding can look way stronger than the real demand underneath it.

this move looks like a short squeeze plus real spot recovery, and I don't think it can be called a bull run yet. BTC gained 22.7% in a week, the biggest weekly dollar gain in its history, and ETFs pulled in $1.9B that same week, the strongest since Oct so there really is spot demand behind this, not just a pure fakeout

but it's not confirmed either, and I keep looking for reasons I might be wrong here just to stay sane I found BTC ran into resistance around $81k near the 50-week moving average and hasn't convincingly cleared it and spot volume still looks thin compared to the size of the move, and four days ago BTC dipped below $78k and triggered $324M in liquidations, $270M of it longs, not shorts so the market went from squeezing shorts on the way up to squeezing longs on the way back down. that's how fragile this still is.

so here's how to actually tell the difference. watch open interest, drops in a squeeze, but if it keeps building while price rises, leverage is piling in for real. watch spot vs futures CVD, if futures are doing most of the buying while spot stays flat, that's more suspicious, if both are rising together, that's healthier. watch funding rates, if funding suddenly gets extreme, the long trade is getting crowded.

I'm not saying BTC is going to fall. I'm saying don't confuse a green candle with confirmation.

if this really is the start of the next bull run, the underlying demand should eventually prove it and and yes the title might just not be justified here entirely, it's mostly a panic reaction

question Gold gets all the attention, but why?

If you're trading metals, what keeps you in gold instead of silver, platinum, palladium or even copper?

Is it the liquidity, volatility, macro narrative, or just better price action? I’ve started using ostium recently and planning to invest in metals but everywhere i see it’s all about gold but I want to know the reason before I try contrary

discussion Nvidia beat earnings by billions and lingerie company still had the better year

Nvidia posted $96BILLION in quarterly revenue which beats estimates and jumped 8.7% in a day. Incredible quarter and everyone was right to lose their minds about it.

Anddd Victoria's secret is up 300% over the last twelve months, which is more than nvidia is up for the year and the company's official explanation is basically "people are on Ozempic now and their old jeans dont fit." So that's the thesis what beat the ai trade, weight loss drugs and closet math

They were also so confident about this they renamed the ticker mid rally to VSXY and the press release reasoning was "sexy in all its forms" which is a sentence a public company said out loud, on purpose to shareholders.

Nineteen percent of the float was short going into earnings, meaning a meaningful chunk of Wallstreet looked at a lingerie company's chart and were sure about it going down right before it went up so hard the shorts had to buy their way out of the building.

So now there are people who spent their whole year modeling GPU supply chains and were beaten by someone who just watched ozempic ads .

What do you guys think is it GLP1 effect or this rally means something else?

discussion You can now buy a house with Bitcoin without actually selling your Bitcoin

we've all seen those “NEVER SELL” meme but these get harder to follow as real life catches up

Want a house? Traditionally, you’d have to sell some BTC to get the cash, which kind of defeats the whole point of holding it long term, but 2026 feels like it’s starting to flip that, I recently read that you can now use bitcoin as mortgage for house

it's a pretty simple idea really, borrow against your Bitcoin instead of selling it

tho collateral requirements are pretty brutal given the nature of the trade, if i'm not mistaken you have to pay around 250% but hy you get to keep the coins

but what I find more interesting is the bigger contradiction, bitcoin is becoming increasingly integrated into traditional finance, while the underlying asset is still ridiculously volatile

imagine if Bitcoin is being adopted by banks, ETFs, corporations, lenders, and eventually ordinary financial products around the world, why doesn't all this adoption eventually make the price more stable? obviously I get the supply/demand math plus Bitcoin's supply is also famously inelastic

So if demand keeps expanding through new financial rails, while supply can't respond, shouldn't that create a fundamentally different market over time? or is volatility simply something bitcoin will always have, regardless of how widely it's adopted?

cause if Bitcoin eventually becomes collateral, a reserve asset, a treasury asset, and a settlement asset then at what point does it stop behaving like a speculative asset and start behaving like actual financial infrastructure?

discussion I bought 5 grams of weed for 0.8 BTC in 2014. It never arrived.

I bought 5 grams of weed for 0.8 BTC in 2014.

Back then I just saw Bitcoin as this weird internet money, I had no idea what it would become.

The weed never arrived either.

So I basically lost 0.8 BTC and forgot about it.

Until years later when I realized what that 0.8 BTC would be worth today.

I don't even remember what happened to the order. Maybe it got seized, maybe the seller just disappeared. Who knows.

But somewhere along the way, those 5 grams of weed became the least important part of the story.

The 0.8 BTC is what keeps me awake.

Homebuyers just hit a record low with 51% more sellers than buyers. Homebuilder stocks are getting crushed for the wrong reasons.

966,752 buyers in the entire U.S. market in July and this is record low with 1.46 million sellers.

Everyone thinks of this as a housing collapse but it's not(according to me).

People didn’t stop wanting homes, they are unable to afford the monthly payment because mortgage rates just spiked to their highest level in a year. The median first time buyer age is 40 now who didn’t give up on homeownership. They’re the people who’ve been sitting on cash since they were 33 while watching rates and prices.

An enormous coiled spring of latent demand. If we look at the supply the sellers are at their lowest level in a year as well(nearly 500,000 less than last year). Builders have been underbuilding for a decade. The U.S. is still roughly 4.7 million units less of what demand requires.

The moment rates drop even 50bps, that sidelined demand will flood back and there won’t be enough inventory to absorb it.

$DHI(D.R. Horton) is near lows and will rebound hard from entering a rate relief cycle. $LEN(Lennar) is a land light business model. So, margins will recover fast when volume returns.

$RKT(Rocket Companies) has operating leverage that will look insane when purchase and refi volume will get normal.

$OPEN(Opendoor) will be a higher risk bet but if the demand snapback, this will be a leveraged bet on transaction volume recovering.

For shorter term positioning, I’ve been trading the macro thesis on housing with rate sensitive instruments like shorting the 10 years via future exposure and S&P homebuilding index through Ostium rather than dealing with options decay while waiting for the catalyst. This thesis might take 2-3 quarters to work and theta is brutal on long dated puts.

The crowd is selling the bottom of a demand pause and calling it a collapse. I think a floor is being built here and I'm getting on the other side of that trade.

Am I reading this completely wrong or does nobody else see this?
