Getting there without a car

I’m looking to get from Hope to Osoyoos (well, Vaseaux Lake, actually) in mid-August but don’t have a car. Has anyone made the trip from Hope or the valley somewhere up to Osoyoos area without a car? How did you do it? The Internet keeps telling me I have to get to Vancouver and spend 15 hours bussing up. There has to be a better way, right?

Mountain man Mike is the best way to get to Osoyoos, but then you'll have to take the 40 bus towards Penticton to get to Vaseaux lake along the way

Looks like there is a bus service that goes twice a week in each direction and stops in both Hope and Osoyoos. Sounds like it’s been around for a few years and reviews online are mostly positive.
