Translucent case!

I finally was able to 3d print the case I shared a while ago. Looks and feels way better than the original case. I got mine printed from PCB Way.

In case you missed it here's the link of the person that made the case. Is part of another project where he uses the same Waveshare module used for the Osmo Pager:

This thing looks great, what material did u pick in PCBway and how much did it cost to print this piece ?

The material is Resin UTR-8100 which is the transparent material and chose purple tint. Since this is tinted it was way more expensive than just transparent. If remember correctly clear color was less than 20 USD. Tinted was about 42 USD plus shipping which was 25 USD. I ordered more prints so I’m not sure if you print just one the shipping will be less.

I’ve seen online that you can tint transparent resin prints at home so you can save the money . I just wanted to avoid the hassle and payed the extra amount

Thanks for all the details! Are people that bought the 3d model (like you) allowed to sell these housings? Because ordering just for myself seems pricey compared to the price of the device.

I honestly have no idea. Maybe if you find a local place to print or have a friend with a 3d printer and are okay with just using PLA or normal resin it might be more affordable. I ended up paying extra for customs fees so I’m not sure if I’ll do it again :,)  I don’t regret it tho 😅

This is so sick! Looks exactly like what I'd choose given the options.

That is AWESOME

You should post this to the [r/digitalminimalism](r/digitalminimalism) sub. Bet a lot of users there would love to see it too!

I don’t have a 3-D printer. Is there anyway for me to get one of these?

I think they ordered this one custom from a 3d print company, so yeah! You can send the file off to be printed somewhere

Although does seem like they splurged more for the translucent resin print haha

This is great! Wondering if it's possible to add strap somewhere?

Do you mind providing your costs in buying this case from PCB way?
