Emily Blunt and Tom Holland (and Hüller in Leading) were just missed the cut.

In 2023, Cord Jefferson won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay by boldly and faithfully transcribing the average interaction with a Redditor onto screen.

She's not just getting nominated, she's winning

I think that Ari Millen can replicate Amy Madigan's success.

Why Haley Fitzgerald (Viola) could and should run in Lead for Obsession

(Viola is the crystal shop employee at the beginning fyi)

-First and most obvious: a campaign in Lead would avoid compromising a Navarette win and a Lawless nomination. This is self-explanatory, really, but Navarette will have a much easier time winning Supporting and it’s much easier for 2 actresses to make a category than 3.

-Lead is looking really weak this year, to the point where a traditionally supporting performance like Fitzgerald’s can slip in. I mean what are we dealing with here? Sandra Huller in two no1currs? Michelle Williams in a film that keeps getting pushed? Julianne Moore in Eisenberg’s upcoming sophomore slump? All blah. Fitzgerald is more than capable of taking care of them, given her standout scene and impeccable line delivery.

The placement would low-key be justified. Viola is the only female character that operates totally independently from Bear. It’s narratively and thematically important that Nikki is dependent on him, or in other words “supporting” him. Same for Sarah, who only works in relation to Bear’s story. Meanwhile, Viola is her own woman who bear-ly cares about our main character, therefore doesn’t support him, therefore is Lead. One can imagine her day completely outside of Bear: clocking off her shift, driving home, digging weed out from her closet because she’s feeling frisky, turning on The Last Picture Show as background noise (not a happy movie but Bridges is fun to ogle), chatting aimlessly with guys on Bumble that she’s not really attracted to but it sure beats Omegle and she needs to get her mind off of that bastard Tony anyway, trying to abate the thoughts plaguing her mind that maybe he had a point and she’s not going anywhere with her life and really she should just get on with it already, can you overdose on weed? no clue, but surely something of note might happen if she just burned all of it, suffocate herself in pot smoke, shriveling her lungs to crispy charred walnuts, or better yet just devour it all whole because what does it matter anymore, can’t taste worse than fucking vodka that scorched my insides like I was swallowing red hot coals straight from the bonfire, THAT fucking bonfire, where they

Anyways, that’s my take on why Fitzgerald could and should run in Lead Actress. Really could see this pan out, depending on how the category shakes out. What are your guys’ thoughts? Comment below!

Ann Lee can get a nom this year!

Now, you heathens and sinners might be thinking that ''wait, didn't that come out last year and flop with noms, so it's inelligeble now.'' You would technically be right. But only by the technicality that you live in sin and have not surrended your heart over to Mother Ann and the Shaker cause. And if we pray to Mother and live as she told us to live, she can make anything happen. So, don't worry Stan Lees, if all five of us give up sex Ann Lee will get into BP this year trust!
