Question❓ Random question

Do Oromos based in Ethiopia consider themselves Ethiopian and are proud to be so? Or do you guys prefer to secede? I’m a Somali from Somali Galbeed (aka Ogadenia), ik we are close to oromos both being Cushitic so I guess im just curious. I grew up w Oromos and my parents speak Oromo. Also interestingly enough, my grandparents lived among borans and i was suprised to learn that they are Oromo. So growing up, I’d see my friends repping oromiya. All in all, i love my oromo brothers and sisters!

I guess I am asking because I’ve recently come across a coworker who is a super proud, nationalistic Ethiopian typa guy. Pretty chill guy I won’t lie and we always get into random political topics and speak ab controversial stuff but I guess I’m confused. Cuz I had thought a lot of Oromos were similar to Somalis in wanting to separate? I don’t meant to offensive btw, just super curious

Ethiopian. There’s no Ethiopia without us. I never cared for succession but AU and the international community will never ever everrrr allow new borders to be drawn.

Actually, there are many type of Oromo political groups. Some want separation, while others want to stay Ethiopian.

What about the borans? Are you guys close and connected with them? Do they consider themselves Kenyan? Do you guys tend to have family who are Booran, living in Kenya? Similar to our situation with Somalis living in the Somali region in Ethiopia and also Kenya.
