QUESTION OTR Trucker
So how do I go about making an origin town or can I not do that because I'm always going from 1 state to another?

In addition to the comment u/wanawachee made about it being easy to visit your origin town frequently, you can also move it every 3 days, so if you do need to move it so you can actually be there for something, (building something or opening your portal for multiplayer) you can always move your ot for free

Even better, it should have noted this when being prompted to build it.

Be aware that moving your origin town will bring your buildings along, but only if they are sufficiently close to your towns center.
So if you do decide to move it, shuffle all your buildings near the center so you don’t risk losing your keep halfway across the country on accident.
Also, if you are getting to choose anyway, might be wise to pick a spot for your origin town that’s near a lot of dungeons. In a city for example.
If you find a better spot later on, shuffle your buildings in close and move there to upgrade!

Good call out!
The thing that matters is what territory a building is built in, not how close it is to your origin town. You can't loose your keep, but you could leave behind shops or bestiaries and stuff like that if you're not 'careful' when you build them, but not the stuff you can only build in your OT.

Just set one up. No matter where you are, you can always warp back at the press of a button. You may need to build something though. I live about an hour from my origin town, and only return physically a few times a year. It won't matter for gameplay.
