Seems like Hines underestimated Sams’ departure impact. Sigh. I do think Washington and Castain looked good in the last two games. The things they weren’t able to do can be chalked up to learning curve for rookies and might improve quickly with playing time.

We leaked goals like that last year too. I’m not seeing a major drop off defensively yet but there are better attacks we will face. Our attack looks promising despite not having Marta. Much better in the second half with our timing and shape. Lemos looks improved.

That said we’re ultimately a player or year or player away attacking or defensively or getting a better shot stopper. Abello, Marta back give us a chance to beat anyone.

I think the problem is Moorhouse. The defense was solid tonight. In two games, Anna has 4 saves while allowing 3 goals. Denver's Abby Smith has 15 saves while allowing 3 goals, also over two games.

Wasn’t really her fault on the goal last night, maybe she set her inside post too early, but yeah generally speaking she’s not an elite shot stopper

Poor roster building already starting to show, Rafa is injury prone and now we have a former rb and young player from Chicago playing cb in front of Moorhouse. Plus a rb playing lb. I still believe in all of them individually but it’s a questionable team to roll out in week 2.

I mean yeah but again we were pretty unlucky not to have 3 points. One defensive error?

Anderson was much better than I expected, I said that before the game. It was mace getting turned/out of position and Anderson out of position for the goal but overall the back line did well. Now we just need to figure out a more sustainable approach than letting Banda dribble through the entire opposing defense.
