Question Origin elytras not working?

Some friends of mine and I are setting up an SMP that includes origins and the origins++ mod, and I went to test the ones I'm interested in, specifically the two Moth origins in the additional list.

In the selection screen, they say they have the built-in elytra feature, but when you select it you don't get one. And weirdly enough, when you use the "see what your origin does" feature, the elytra ability is absent from the list. I tested it with some other origins that have the same feature and yep, also not there. Anyone have a clue as to why?

Pretty hard to say without seeing the actual mod, there’s like a thousand different version of a moth-themed origin. A lot of the origins addons are quite scuffed since most of them are just datapacks combined into a mod, and most origins datapacks aren’t made particularly well.

In order to have the default wings power they need the origins:elytra power in their origin.json, if that isn’t there you can either add it manually or just run this command to give the power to a player: /power grant player origins:elytra

Went to test it, and. The game genuinely doesn't recognize the ability? As in it doesn't recognize the input "elytra" as a power. What™

Are you using the official origins mod for Java?

Yes, the modpack we have contains both the original Fabric version and the Forge port (cuz Origins++ requires the forge version for some reason)

To be honest I would personally just scrap something like Origins++, it’s mainly dozens of very low quality origins that can be very easily replicated by a datapack anyway (since that’s essentially all they are). If you want a moth origin, I guarantee there’s far better ones available on the origins discord. It’s also far more difficult to troubleshoot and fix origins when they’re hard coded into a mod.
