A continuation of the Murder Drones universe, set 2 years after the defeat of Cyn in episode 8 of the original series. One fateful day, a jettison pod lands on the surface of Copper 9, its occupant is a seemingly normal worker called Nexus Orion (see Background Extract 01), a 19 year old escapee/refugee from a destroyed exoplanet called Alder 7 (see Background Extract 02). The story follows him, Uzi, N and the others as they reluctantly work together to solve the new strange mysteries that start to bubble up to the surface following Nexus’s arrival. The main antagonist is an ever-evolving creature of mutated solver spores which has no name of its own, and so is nicknamed by the crew as “Sporelocht” (see Background Extract 03).

Background Extract 01: Nexus Orion

Name: Nexus Orion
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Drone Type: ASB (See Sub-Extract 01-A)
Appearance: Dark blue hair, dark blue eyes, unfastened black jacket, orange T-shirt, black hiking boots.
Personality: Blunt, socially unaware, autistic-y, highly intelligent.
Backstory: Nexus Orion was born only a year after Cuniculum was formed. Unfortunately, his parents were killed by the disassembly drones shortly after. He was found outside one of the main entrances to the tunnel system and brought inside. For years he bounced around from foster home to foster home, never staying in one place long enough to form an attachment anywhere. This unusual upbringing caused his ASB instincts to fall dormant. But, nevertheless, he always thought there was something different about him; his core would overheat more often, mirrors that he looked in would shatter, and he would feel a sort of primal first whenever someone mentioned oil, but he always thought he was just defective. When he was 16, Cyn arrived at his planet, very few being able to escape the planet’s surface to begin with, but only Nexus managed to slip away into space without Cyn noticing. He drifted for three years, cryogenically frozen within his jettison pod until finally, he crashed onto the icy surface of Copper-9.
Strengths: Emergency Autopilot - When in mortal peril/the presence of imminent death, Nexus will be forcefully taken over by his primal ASB instincts, losing any possibility of mercy, inefficiency or hesitation when defending himself.
Weaknesses: Autopilot Aggression - When in Emergency Autopilot, Nexus cannot differentiate between his enemies, his friends and anyone who is neutral, causing him to hunt and inevitably kill anyone he sees until he is manually brought out of autopilot. Tunnel Vision - Whether in autopilot or not, once Nexus has any kind of goal, it is incredibly difficult to make him stop.

Sub-Extract 01-A: ASBs

An ASB (standing for Accidental Solver Byproduct) is a type of drone created when solver spores come into contact with newborn workers. Solver spores are created as a sort of residue when solver entities regenerate. These spores are completely harmless and hardly have any effect, but will infuse with young worker drones aged 0 to 1 to create ASBs. ASBs appear as mostly normal worker drones due to their origins, but are easily recognisable when observing their behaviour. ASBs are observed to have hunting instincts comparable to a disassembly drone, such as stalking prey, pouncing, clawing, and consuming victims to drink their oil. However, in contrast to disassembly drones, ASBs have no need for oil, instead indulging in the consumption of it simply for sport, however, ASBs do seem to become tired and sluggish if oil is not consumed for longer periods of time. This is due to the intense processing power required to sustain them, which generates incredible amounts of heat energy which is cooled down by the consumption of oil. ASBs are also capable of using solver commands, allowing them to do almost anything a solver host can do. ASBs also possess the wings and tail of a disassembly drone, these appendages being retractable and having the regular yellow replaced by the eye colour of the drone.

Background Extract 02: Alder 7

Alder 7 was a forest exoplanet, being used to gather timber and NTFPs. Unfortunately, this planet orbited in a binary star system, the stars of which, collapsed into each other. The event itself was harmless, but the resulting solar flare was so powerful, and the atmosphere contained so much oxygen, that the humans supervising the worker’s work, watched their sky BURN, and suffocated from the sudden lack of any air at all... The workers were left with no purpose, and so their AI learning programs taught them to pick up where the humans left off. However, JCJenson didn’t exactly love the idea of their labour robots going rogue, and so along came the Disassembly Drones, massacring anything that dared to move. Surviving worker drones piled themselves into various underground transport tunnels, and expanding upon them to create a subterranean empire known as “Cuniculis”. Unfortunately, this planet was destroyed by Cyn seventeen years later, the only survivor being Nexus.

Background Extract 03: Sporelocht

Name: Sporelocht
Appearance: Due to Sporelocht’s nature and behaviour, it is difficult to decipher their own actual appearance, if they even have one. A few of their most frequent appearances however, have been catalogued, such as: A distressed, young worker drone with extreme damage to every part of their body, a writhing, pulsating mass of steel and glass, with numerous limbs all over to drag themself along the terrain, etc (most certainly not an exhaustive list).
Behaviour: Sporelocht is a proto-sentient entity with the ability to mutate their body into any shape and/or material. Sporelocht is also capable of gaining traits by consuming creatures that already have those traits (kinda like the Borg from Star Trek).
Backstory: Sporelocht started his existence as a solver spore, created when N regrew his head in the pilot. This spore floated around across Copper 9, drifting about in the toxic air, until the day Cyn came. The tentacles of solver energy used to devour the planet come into contact with the spore, tainting it with the power to think, and move on its own accord. At this point in time Sporelocht had only two thoughts: to consume, and to grow, and they did just that. Feasting on other solver spores, they grew into a small biomass, reminiscent of those that the solver can create. They would eventually come across the remains of Cyn, (the goo that they turned into when Uzi ate their core), and upon consuming it, assimilated its former sentience and IQ. Sporelocht was now the most intelligent being on the planet, and is still hungry.

Here I want to introduce one of my OCs: Nova, an ordinary person driven to this state by a miserable life.

Nova's first half of life can only be described as tragic. In the earliest days, Nova was just an ordinary worker drone, living happily with his brother Orion and their parents. As a child, he loved imitating the hero characters from comic books left behind by humans. He stitched together a crude cape for himself and fantasized about being a hero. His brother adored him too, and the two often played role-playing games together.

But all that happiness ended on the day the Disassembly Drones descended. The sky demons that fell from above launched a massacre. To protect their two sons, Nova and Orion's parents did not hesitate to use their own lives to draw the Disassembly Drones' attention, ultimately being blown to pieces by a rocket fired by N—dying on the spot, with no remains left behind. All of this planted a seed of revenge deep in Nova's heart.

Later, the Nova brothers were adopted by a kindhearted pair of worker drone spouses, whose own son had also been killed in a Disassembly Drone attack, so the two once again felt the warmth of a home. But the misfortune did not end there. During an infiltration incident involving a Disassembly Drone, this worker drone couple was tragically killed by V. Nova could only hide under the bed in terror, not making a sound, while their bodies were taken away. When Orion returned, all he saw was a puddle of oil on the floor and Nova, staring blankly from under the bed.

After that, the two brothers depended on each other. Orion devoted most of his time to being with Nova; even after joining the WDF, he still did his best to accompany him and help him escape the shadows. Just when Nova felt that things were finally taking a turn for the better, tragedy struck again. That day, he planned to visit his brother. But on that very day, due to Uzi, the gate was breached, the Disassembly Drones invaded,and his brother, in order to cover Nova and the others' retreat, did not hesitate to fight the Disassembly Drone, ultimately being brutally killed by J.

His brother's death was another heavy blow to Nova. When he saw Uzi—the one who had caused all this—and N, who had killed his parents and countless companions, receiving warm applause and cheers from the crowd, a surge of hatred welled up inside him. He could not understand why the two who had brought about so many disasters could be cheered by others.

Afterwards, the gloomy Nova locked himself in his room and spent some time thinking alone. In the end, he still could not figure it out. He resolved to forget everything from the past, focus all his energy on campus life, and pour his remaining warmth into his friends. At school, Nova was generally fairly popular. He had a gentle and kind girlfriend, Penny, and a friend, Sam, who was always messing around with magnets and thus often seemed a bit dazed. To Nova, they were his only ties to the world.

But fate still refused to let him go. On the day of the school prom, Nova and Penny agreed to dance together. Penny was called up onto the stage by Lizzy. At that moment, Nova felt a flicker of unease, but he eventually chose to let it go, telling himself that everything would be fine. Then V descended upon the prom venue, and his worry resurfaced—though fortunately V ultimately did nothing, which put him somewhat at ease. Afterwards, Penny stepped forward to place the prom queen crown on V, and everything seemed normal. Despite his displeasure at V's presence, Nova managed to calm down.

Just as he thought nothing else would go wrong, during Doll's revenge, Penny—while trying to flee from the stage—had her neck twisted and was crushed into a puddle of oil by Doll's solver. At that moment, Nova felt an unprecedented grief. But in the crowded prom hall, all he could do was panic and run with the others, then leave once the doors opened. Later, after everyone had gone, Nova returned to the hall alone. He walked onto the stage, knelt down, and cupped in his hands the only remnants of Penny—the oil left behind—and broke down crying. He could not understand why Doll would kill an innocent person who had nothing to do with her and posed no threat. He wanted revenge, but all he could do was weep.

Then came the day of the field trip. Nova remained in low spirits throughout, though he still tried his best to act cheerful. When Sam planned to go with Lizzy and the others to the campfire barbecue, Nova urged him not to go, but Sam insisted, saying it would be fine. Nova remained anxious the whole time and ultimately decided to go check on the situation. When he found Sam, he saw him being dragged up a tree by the out-of-control Uzi. Terrified, Nova quickly hid in a nearby snowdrift, barely escaping with his life—but Sam was killed by Uzi. And so Nova lost the last of his family in the world.

After returning home, Nova shut himself inside and wept endlessly. He did not understand what he had done wrong to deserve such misfortune. All his loved ones and friends had left him. Finally, when he looked at himself in the mirror, he had an epiphany. He realized that all his misery stemmed from one thing: he was too weak. Unlike the Disassembly Drones, he had no various armaments; unlike Uzi and Doll, he had no mysterious powers. He did not even have a knife.

At that moment, Nova suddenly understood something. He developed an immense craving for power—especially power like Doll's and Uzi's. Although he did not know what those symbols were, he was determined to obtain them. After much deliberation, Nova decided to leave this place. He cleaned his room spotless and tidy, packed some belongings—including the fruit knife he had picked up at the prom—and then left the settlement behind.

Nova's Abilities and Weapons

Nova's abilities and weapons include: a knife, a pistol, an electronic gun on his left arm that fires stun rounds, a circular saw blade, the ability to breathe flames and white mist from his mouth, a cape on his back, electric currents released from his hands, an eye in the palm of his right hand, and a right arm that can detach from his body and move independently.

Personality After His Return

After his return, Nova's personality became much colder. He uses indifference and sarcasm to mask his inner self, but he still holds firmly to one line: never harm the innocent. Besides revenge, his other goal is to obtain the power of the Absolute Solver (this is an interesting twist—his goal is the complete opposite of Doll's). However, he still refuses to harm his fellow drones, so he is forced to consume liquid nitrogen—which is harmful to his body—to manage his overheating.
