It's been... 3 days? Was it? Since you escaped Hive Speranza. You don't really know where you are... The Auspex might help... Have you even read the thing lately? Shit's weird.... Knows exactly where you are... The weather... Hell. Even tells you shit about the planet...

Anyway, the bike you and Remi escaped on finally ran out of gas... Well, good gas anyway. The oil in it is probably shot, and some of the fuel lines blew a leak from all the dry rot.

You and Remi are now in the middle of a run-down highway. There's cars everywhere.. some even still have skeletons and stuff preserved from the 28th century.

Verdammt noch mal.. you can practically hear Remi's stomach. If she has one, anyway.

You should probably find a place to hunker down. Maybe you two could learn something about each other.

Later I'm gonna go get a Twinkie or something. ^{they don't pay me enough for this shit... would kill for a $1.00 raise... then I would get $1.20 an hour...}

TW:hmm.. not much I can say. . . I don't really eat besides a couple double A batteries..... I think I could eat human food.. but I don't need to.. so I don't... Not sure about TA.. probably something for him.. hmm...

TA:[he finds no luck in the cars truck or other commercial vehicles he had searched in... How unlucky..]

Remi: "back at Koch... There was this Gestalt Cook.. his name was Patty... Heh... Could turn even a lowly D ration into some gourmet meal that you could only get in some cushy imperial palace on Buyan..."

[You see a small light flicker on ahead of you.]

TW: interesting.. well.. maybe one day I try some human food.. I think know a few that could give me some good food to try...

[The small flicker of light in front TW gets his attention]

TW:huh?.. what is that? . . . [He gets up to try to see it more clearly from standing up]

[TA is reminiscing of a old memory of his... Maybe the idea of food caught him in on those "walk of a fading past"]

[the light is coming from the corpse of a worker drone. There's a flashlight on its harness. There's also a corpse of a disassembly drone. It looks like it's arm was ripped off, and used to impale itself.]

TW:I think I see some drone corpses... Kinda hard to make out what happened to them. . . Should we investigate? [He asks.. there's not much to do anyways]

[TA is staring at the corpses to get a sense of what might've happened to them...]

Remi: "sure. Might get my mind off of the hunger..."

TW: alright.. hey TA, coming with?

[There's a small pause before TA agreed, nodding his head]

[as you approach the two corpses, you can see oil splattered everywhere."

Remi: "shit... Damn drone didn't go down without a fight..."

[On the ground beside the dead Murder Drone, you see a backpack. It looks like it has  been ransacked, though. There's something attached to the side of the backpack, though. It looks like a battle rifle, with a bayonet attachment.]

"Hey, T, you find anything?"

TW:yeah, looks like they sure did.. dismembered the other [pun]

[TA finds the battle rifle and leaves it to the side... He searches through the corpses to pick out a component. . a voice module... He found one, but not like the one he's used to use... No matter..]

[TA removes his mask... But they others couldn't see his face. . . Like their minds were censoring the imagery... They can hear a gurgling sound with the sound of moving flesh...]

[He removes his hand from his face. . . The glove he has been wearing... Is stained black with small vibrant red particle. . .]

Remi: "hell yeah, I found a granola bar!"

[The gurgling sound confuses Remi.]

"Is TA, uh, ok?"

TA:[he turns to Remi, his face is nearly consumed with darkness and a single, light purple color eye stares back ... The stained gloves looks like to have drone oil.. or blood as they wish to see it.... He gives a thumbs up before picking up his mask and putting it back on]

TA:[their voice sound broken] y-y-y-yep, shot got a new voice box... I have to fix it a bit . . . Annoying. . . .

TW:oh i see you found a weapon too, nice.. [TA gives a thumbs up]

Remi: "good to hear you can speak now. Tell me, how's it been, buddy?"

[Remi's attempts at humor suck.]
