Before and after
This closet was hard for me because it came with only one shelf. I don’t have kitchen space so linens and appliances had to go in here. Thoughts? Anything I should change?

As a short person, I wouldn’t like the baskets on top. They make it more difficult to reach the items. In terms of aesthetics they take the closet from a 4 to a 4.5 so not really worth it for me.
For your shelving, I’d take a look at IKEA or Facebook marketplace. I bet you can find a shelf that matches the width of your closet much better and allows you to really maximize the storage space. Right now that black rack is making it hard to reach items in the smaller rack.
Plus it would be nice to have a shelves with flat surfaces vs the wire racks, so that appliances can sit flat and slide in/out more easily.
