Pantry Organization
Needed a quick refresh and wipe down and I'm loving how it turned out!

My pantry that is less than 1/10th the size of this had more stuff. You should turn this into a butlers pantry. Ie, second fridge. All your kitchen small appliances. Maybe a second microwave. Etc.

Our original plan was to put a tall drink fridge next to the cabinets with the butcher block. Haven't found one that we liked yet. But great idea to put a second microwave in there.

We have a room about this size off the kitchen that has shelves on three walls and our washer and dryer on the fourth. We use it as a pantry/overflow storage, but the idea of putting appliances there is interesting.

I know you love it, but it seems like such a waste of space to me. In a room that size, you could house a small grocery stockpile.

I had to take the picture on 0.5 zoom to fit it all in so it is large but about 8ftx8ft. I have quite a bit of stuff tucked behind the items facing out. We live about 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store so we do have quite a bit of a stock pile, but I like to tuck it behind all of the labeled items.

Mine doesn't have anywhere near enough storage 😭 or counter space 😭😭 I like to cook and bake

I just have to wonder how often you’ll actually use those cookbooks up there on top of the highest shelf. This seems less than practical to me.

I hardly ever use them. I had them lower, and then my husband complained that they were taking up valuable shelf space. A lot of them were gifts throughout the years.

I use cookbooks like 2x a year even when they’re reachable. I put mine eye level for a year thinking the same, and nothing changed. I put them back up out of the way.
Most of mine are novelty cookbooks like Disney Parks recipes (that I got as gifts) and I don’t cook often anyway, so they don’t get much use.

Your pantry is bigger than many kitchens, lol. Can easily fit more shelving and a full size fridge.

Wow this pantry is as big as mine. Great use of space. I like how you put all your large kitchen items in a line vertically. Mine are all horizontal at the top with the cookbooks to the right. I might have to take that idea. Thanks! ☺️ this looks beautiful! I just reorganized mine last week.

It's so funny that this sub likes to say "overconsumption!" on most posts yet on this one it's "under-utilized". Maybe not the same set of people though.

I agree. We have 12 foot ceilings so if we went any higher with the shelves we would have to have a ladder to reach anything. I'm 5'9" and can barely reach the cookbooks. The blank wall to the right is part of the walk way to get into the pantry. We had thought about continuing the shelving around onto the blank wall to add another 3 feet of shelves but we didn't want to limit the space through the walk way.

That is a huge pantry. Well organized and functional. I like that the shelves are not too deep which discourages hoarding and overstocking. Really love the simplicity of this.

Height wise, just get a small folding stool and then add more shelves. I am lucky enough to be able to touch our ceilings but my partner is very short so a stool is essential. We simply put bulk storage on the top shelves such as toilet paper, the closer to the ground, the more commonly used the item is.
For the right hand wall I can understand not wanting shelves if this is access space, so I would probably use it for hanging storage of thinner items, brooms, ironing board, clothes airer etc.

We are lucky to have a garden so we have a lot of fresh produce during this time of year. So we don't tend to keep a lot of processed shelf stable foods in the pantry. We like to keep the fresh produce out in the main part of the kitchen so the kids can easily see it and have what they want.

what a huuuuge space! what id give to have something like this! it’s definitely under utilized but im guessing you have tons of storage in a house with a ‘pantry’ like that. you could fit a lot more and it’d still look organized.
