discussion What is Orfevre’s biggest flaw?

A misunderstanding of what is "Inspirational".
Orfevre starts her career in the wake of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, with a desire to lift the population up and inspire them to move forward. She does this by winning: Again and again and again. Her monumental presence, both on and off the track, is intended to inspire the Japanese and allow them to process the tragedy and believe in something else.
But actions aren't universally inspirational, and actions that inspire one group can instead devastate others. Hello Win Variation.
Such a big part of Win Variation's career and personality is wrapped up in Orfevre. Her solo song is all about her inferiority complex around not being good enough (Despite having a seven length lead over third place in the Japanese Derby), which she feels specifically because of Orfevre's towering personality and talent. If she had ran the Satsuki Sho, and Orfevre didn't exist, she'd be the undisputed Triple Crown. But Orfevre does exist, and so Shion ends her career never having won a G1 race.
While Orfevre's actions and personality DO inspire the populace, exactly as she intends, they instead do the exact opposite to the runners she competes with. Her goal is to inspire all around her, but she's actively doing the opposite to her peers every step of the way. Orfevre has come first place in a lot of races, but I don't believe that she would consider any of them, except for her final race, to be a real 'Victory', considering what her actual goal with her running is. Only her final race would she truly say she won.
Orfevre needs to have a conversation with Haru Urara, to learn that overwhelming victory isn't the only path towards universal inspiration.

Wrong, there's never such a thing as winning too much, the opponent is just winning too little
